Extras: For many folks, the best extra will be the 10:22 minute long Bonus Scene by Olga Cabaeva as she played a sausage loving strudel gal, complete with costume, on the second disc. The first disc had a cast list and 26:57 minute long set of interviews with the ladies, starting with Dana and working through the cast as time permitted. The second disc was where the best extras were though, including a sweet 66:41 minute long set of Outtakes that included a lot of deleted footage of a sexual nature, some of it at least as good as the material used in the movie itself. Most of the footage would have otherwise been included in the 9:29 minute long Behind the Scenes feature or the 1:26 minute long Blooper Reel, there was also five photogalleries, a cast list, some trailers, and cumshot recaps for each disc. The high definition version of the movie lacked the outtakes and that was a nuisance for me, especially given how solid much of the footage was to me, the trailers not nearly as important and dropped too.

Audio/Video Quality: Deep Anal Abyss 2 was presented in a nicely anamorphic 1.78:1 ratio widescreen color as shot by director Jay Sin for Evil Angel using the MPEG-2 codec for standard definition release (at 480i resolution) just as the 1080i resolution appealed to me in the Blu-ray version. The bitrate was usually in the 3.1 Mbps range for the SD version and 19.3 Mbps on the high definition offering but the basic lighting covered the action fairly well so there were not a lot of shadows around during the scenes. The flesh tones were slightly too saturated and the composition of the shots was not always the best for the ladies but the anal tricks that so fascinated director Jay Sin were obviously the most important thing to capture for him; the wacky fun a bit much at times for my sensibilities. Still, the action was clearly recorded and the raw energy of the cast was caught better than I expected; making it a decent looking fuck flick in most ways, especially in the high definition version of the movie. I long for the day when the Blu-ray versions of Evil Angel movies are released in full 1080p and use more advanced codecs to master but I have to admit the added appeal was clear to see. The audio for both was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English using a 192 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate; the lack of separation and dynamic range meaning the audio was a bit flatter than hoped for. It was low end audio for the most part but given the gonzo niche of the movie, this is to be expected. There was no noticed difference in the high definition version here but the visual appeal was enough to make it worthy of consideration.

Body of Review: Jay Sin may not be a household name in porn circles but here at Xcritic, his movies are among the most sought after when Evil Angel sends us some screeners to review. A quick look at his past titles will show that regardless of who reviews his works, he tends to receive very favorable ratings, his dedication to raw energy and technical excellence the kind most people expect from the distribution superstar. Jay's latest release is the low awaited Deep Anal Abyss 2: Special 2 Disc Set, the first volume never reviewed here but considered a near classic when it came out awhile back. For anal aficionados, the cast will be quite familiar and even a few mediocre gals tossed in as last minute replacements (at least that is how they came across), did not hurt the appeal of the double disc set. The company website described the double disc sets like this: "Superhero to the anus-obsessed, Jay Sin has been amassing a huge following with his lighthearted but extremely hardcore movies. His Deep Anal Abyss series is a showcase for some of the most amazing rectal tricks and stunts ever attempted in porn. Deep Anal Abyss 2 features beautiful ladies with otherworldly anal talents and impressive storage capacities. These comely young bitches are like anal magicians with their ability to make giant toys disappear. All the while, Jay's camera frames the action in medium closeup so that sphincter fans can see every little muscle twitch and gape in perfect clarity. Lose yourself inside this heavenly abyss! The standard Deep Anal Abyss 2 release comes as a deluxe 2-disc set which includes a bonus solo scene with Olga Cabaeva, over an hour of outtakes, plus behind-the-scenes footage, bloopers, interviews and nine Jay Sin trailers. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that only one condom was used for those still interested:

The replay value, strokability, and kinky appeal will certainly vary depending on what kind of action you like but even I found it well worth a rating of at least a Recommended given all the extras and footage so accurately advertised. The Blu-ray version had a decidedly better visual appeal in most cases too so if you have the right equipment, it was well worth considering too though the lack of the 66:41 minutes of Outtakes on the high definition version as well as the outdated codec and 1080i resolution were pitfalls too. In all, no matter which version of Deep Anal Abyss 2: Special 2 Disc Set you are in the market for, it had a tremendous amount of anal fuck for the buck so check it out and act accordingly.
