Extras: The best extra of the release for me was, of course, the secondary material that included the use of toys. I know most of you won't consider that a true "extra" but suffice it to say, it increases your amount of lesbian fuck for the buck and that has to be considered a "good thing" by those of you concerned over value (especially in a day and age when double disc sets are growing in popularity thanks to Jules Jordan and Evil Angel). Each of the five scenes had a handful of minutes with toy use that could be accessed via the Chapter menu, the longest adding 7:42 minutes for those keeping count. There was also a 15:17 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that firmly showed Mike in charge of the production, his handheld camera not the very best for shooting high definition but still better than most of his peers are using for their standard definition projects. The evolution of the scenes was also interesting to watch, some photogallery material added in for good measure. There was also a photogallery and two trailers offered up in high definition, a slip case for the double sided DVD included too.

Audio/Video Quality: Finger Licking Good 6 (Blu-Ray) was presented in the same widescreen color with an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 that it was shot in by director Mike Quasar for Third Degree using the VC-1 codec and 1080p resolution one would expect from the guy. While the picture was not the kind of crystal clear video offering some people prefer (it looked like someone decided to make it appear as if shot on film in post production), the scenes were technically superior to a lot of what is on the market these days, the ladies always the focal point of the composed scenes. Mike has been shooting porn for what seems to be a lifetime and while some might argue with his style, I have routinely championed his work for many years too, this title lacking some of the depth the format has to offer but always looking good. The lighting was plentiful and the fleshtones were accurate, a lack of video noise and compression artifacts apparent even to the causal glance. The video bitrate hovered around the 15.2 Mbps area when I paid much attention to it, not as high as some of the competition but looking similar most of the time. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English using the 192 Kbps audio bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate of standard definition porn, the lack of separation or huge increases in dynamic range nothing surprising considering how few companies tend to concern themselves with improving their audio these days. This was about middle of the pack in that regard and while I could hear the vocals just fine, they were not particularly better than anything I've heard from Third Degree or Zero Tolerance in the past.

Body of Review: Mike Quasar has long been one of the most interesting guys directing in porn, his work for companies like Third Degree often surpassing that of his peers thanks to his attention to detail. Mike jokes about his role in making such flicks but truth be told, he cares about making quality smut within the limits placed on him by those he works for (and it shows). Not having seen much of his work in awhile, I was interested in seeing how the company has been doing via their recent spate of blu-ray titles, crossing my fingers that they would be more of an upgrade then the HD-DVD titles that kind of fizzled out for them so when Finger Licking Good 6 (Blu-Ray) came in the other day, I figured this would be a great opportunity to see if the rumors were true regarding Mike "owning the field". The movie itself is another of his lesbian flicks that allows the viewer to see the ladies with toys or without, essentially doubling the footage for fans of lipstick lesbian porn. With personal favorites like Alexis Texas and Sophia Santi (not to mention many others), I knew that I would enjoy whatever it was they did but secretly hoped for them to hit a home run. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Kimberly Kane, the lean blond female leader of the "alt-porn" movement, was up first as she celebrated her birthday with sexy brunette Sochee Mala. Sochee made her a cake but it was clear both gals wanted some pie, hair pie, so they started kissing and caressing each other, Kimberly aggressively claiming what I guess she figured was her present. They then moved off the porch and onto the bed to begin with some hot wax play, pushing forward with titty sucking and box munching where they seemed to get each other off. The toys were reserved for the outtake reels attached to the chapter menu but this part (in all the scenes) appeared to look more realistic in terms of the fun than the toy use section anyway, making it more strokable for me.

Scene Two: Lexi Belle, a sexy little gal with light colored hair, was up next as she bathed in the tub to sooth herself. She made sure to begin caressing herself when redhead Annabelle Lee stripped to join her. The pair kissed and spent considerable attention to their breasts, Annabelle even getting some foot fetish action in for the niche lovers out there. They then gave each other some head on the rim of the tub, the soft purrs of pleasure enhancing the moment for me as an outside observer. Some rimming was included too, Lexi bending over for Annabelle to chow on was hot, but the kissing seemed to dominate the sensual approach that Mike took to shoot this one. Nice!

Scene Three: Georgia Jones, the beautiful brunette standing on the middle of the front cover, was up next with also appealing Erin Avery in a bedroom scene where they pulled out the massage oil to get frisky with. The oil tickled but the gals appeared to be no strangers to pleasuring each other this way, rubbing the back but moving down to the shapely ass where the tongue came into play and set things off. They began macking on the bed after that, the clothing thrown aside and the hands going everywhere, each getting some quality time with the oil before they started fingering and eating each other out. The scene seemed short but ended with a kiss and left me wanting more.

Scene Four: Sophia Santi, the tall brunette hotty seen on the far left side of the front cover and blond Jana Jordan seen squatting with the thong riding her sweet ass there as well, were up next as they had a mini reunion in the living room. I'm not overly familiar with Sophia's work outside of her previous contract but she always seems to enjoy doing other women, conveying the same sentiment here as the pair aggressively kissed and felt each other up. Sophia was dominant but allowed Jana to spank her firm ass as a means of elevating the heat, their personal chemistry seemingly higher than usual for the flick. While this wasn't the Jana/Sophia team up I would have preferred (that would have included Jana Cova), they did give the movie a needed infusion of enthusiasm and it was good to see Sophia land on her feet after her contract was over. Both were orally inclined too and that gave them ample reason to eat each other with surprising vigor, cunnilingus enthusiasts will get off repeatedly as a result.

Scene Five: Alexis Texas, the curvy blond hotty from the Lone Star State seen standing on the far right hand side of the cover, and exotic cutie Nautica Thorn, were up last and rather than spend a lot of time building up a scenario, Nautica was immediately dropping lots of lotion on Alexis's sweet ass to massage her with by the pool. Those mountains of fleshy goodness looked especially good with the thong riding up her crack, Nautica wanting full access so she removed it so she could continue her sensual onslaught. She also spent some time on the front of the gal but that was where Alexis started pawing her back, the resulting heat moving them inside the house where they started fingering and eating each other. Nautica loved Alexis' pussy a lot but some solo work contributed to the wetness she had to lick up, the oral reciprocated in kind before the all too short scene ended. As an aside, this scene had the longest toy section for those of you wanting to check it out, falling just short of 8 minutes of penetration but equally as hot as anything done during the main movie (without a drop of population pudding in sight!).

Summary: Finger Licking Good 6 (Blu-Ray) by director Mike Quasar for Third Degree had a lot of heated lesbian action going for it and the blu-ray upgrade provided some additional thrills even if it wasn't the crispest picture I have seen in the format of late. I would have preferred a second camera be used to capture more variety in the angles but Mike is a capable director that managed to do nearly as well by himself, the resulting show worthy of being Recommended despite a shortness of extras. In short, Finger Licking Good 6 (Blu-Ray) proved that the company was in capable hands as it advanced into the 21st century with high definition outings, still on the learning curve to offer up the best picture possible but a fine upgrade for those of you equipped to handle it. If there are any better looking lesbian outings available at this writing, none come to mind so check it out if you can.
