FIRST THINGS FIRST

The Simon Wolf production Naughty Bedtime Stories has a very simple premise: Show a sequence of raw sexual episodes, each under the guise of a popular bedtime story. Jessica Drake is the running thread between the episodes, introducing each from a leatherbound volume while relaxing on a big feather bed —in a negligee that gradually diminishes until she's unabashedly nude.

In Excalibur, Violet Blue has an encounter with a time-traveling King Arthur (Evan Stone). She's a little blond vixen, and he's a long-haired, well-endowed stud sporting an anachronistic condom. She gives a footjob, a blow job, and a constant series of orgasmic hisses through her teeth. The series is dominated by a reverse-cowgirl position that would be arousing if not for the condom. Violet has a pleasingly natural body. Grade: B

In Guardian Angel, Randy Spears finds himself deceased and invisible to people around him. Thankfully, Allysin Chaynes, an angel, pays a visit and proves that even the dead can have fleshy fun. Randy engages in cunnilingus, and Allysin reciprocates with some seemingly dear-in-the-headlights fellatio. Next, we get some cowgirl action, then Randy takes her from the rear. Randy's getting an alarmingly scratchy voice these days, prompting thoughts that this dude's getting a little long in the tooth for porn. Still, it's an enjoyable scene, despite—damn!—another fantasy-destroying condom. Grade: B

In That Witch Is a Bitch, Ava Vincent is wooed by a porn starlet (Holly) who's portraying a witch on her TV screen. Soon, she's mistaking her boyfriend for Holly, and soon some arousing lesbian cunny-slathering is occurring. This scene has lots of wet fingers and flicking tongues and come-hither glances and girly-girl moans and sexy smiles and is one of the best on the DVD. Grade: A-

In A Set of Balls, Joelean wishes for a man, but in a cruel twist of fate, she becomes Mark Ashley—in a cheesy morph effect that will have you laughing hysterically. She (he) proceeds to have considerable amounts of fun with roommate Aurora Snow. I would say without hesitation that Aurora is the sexiest girl in the film, and it's a joy to watch her. She's energetic with her mouth and truly seems to be enjoying herself. They go missionary (no condom!) and eventually anal, in a reverse-cowgirl that's almost alarming in its intensity. Grade: A-

In Three Wishes, Tabitha Stevens wants an orgasm. Micky Ray appears to grant her wish. "Don't just stand there," says Tabitha, "get me off." And he does, first delving into some serious vagina-spelunking, working heatedly with tongue and fingers. Interestingly, Tabitha gives her wish-giver some very wet fellatio. How is that in service of her orgasm, I wonder?. Things lead to missionary (no condom), toe-sucking, and doggy-style. And Tabitha gets her wish. Grade: B

In the final story, What an Old Battle Axe, deliveryman Chris Cannon brings a late-night package to Nikita Denise, and in the proud tradition of cheesy porn, the encounter leads to a sexual encounter. Cunnilingus leads to blowjob leads to cowgirl (no condom) leads to anus-fingering leads to reverse-cowgirl anal. Unfortunately, Nikita wears an off-putting Sandra Bernhard expression the entire time and doesn't seem to be enjoying herself. Grade: B-

VIDEO

The full-frame video presentation is very fine, with detail surprisingly deep into backgrounds. Colors are vivid, especially fleshy pinks. Some of the dark scenes tend to be a tad too dark, though—for example, the final scene.

AUDIO

Audio is clear, and heavy moaning and panting come across quite naturally.

EXTRA STUFF

An entire second DVD is devoted completely to extras! You get biographical interviews for stars Ava Vincent, Chris Cannon, Aurora Snow, Nikita Denise, Evan Stone, and Holly Hollywood.

Next up is an 11-minute interview with director Bud Lee that's startlingly annoying. He comes across as a guy trying too hard be hilarious. The result is painful.

The 18-minute behind-the-scenes featurette shows a lot of footage of Bud Lee working with the performers. And not much else.

The 13-minute blooper reel contains the usual flubbed lines and sex errors. Nothing terribly funny, but I always enjoy these.

You get trailers and bonus scenes from Love @ First Byte, Dripping Wet Sex 1, and Blue Angel. The highlight is the first one, with stars Evan Stone and Aurora Snow in a hot scene that betters anything from the primary feature!

Finally, you get photo galleries.

Very much worth a rental, but you'll find yourself wishing you'd also picked up Love @ First Byte.
