Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, the long-time industry standard. The picture had some issues with grain and video noise as well as lighting (shadows on exactly the wrong spots at times) but, to be fair, in three of the scenes, I stopped noticing pretty quickly. I'd have preferred better on all these accounts but the heat was often good enough to cover for it. I didn't see a lot of compression artifacts but some were present, however rarely. The audio was presented in 2.0 stereo English but sounded monaural with no real separation between the channels. The vocals were also somewhat hollow but once they started moaning and groaning, it didn't seem as big a problem. There were some problems with synchronizing the audio and video, most noticeably in the final scene, but it really wasn't as big a problem as it would have been in a feature.

Body of Review: Lesbian movies have fallen from favor in recent years as companies have tried to push the more extreme forms of sex, commonly referred to as circus act sex, and gonzo productions. This often means that consumers who enjoy a good lesbian outing have to look at older works, especially ones just being released on DVD, for their pleasure. While some directors are still geared towards such shoots, like porn historian Jim Holliday, most find the lack of variety among such scenes difficult to shoot. The reasons they've given me almost all boil down to the difficulty in doing something not done before. I try to explain that if the women are really into it, the same old formulas they use for more mainstream porn works for lesbian porn. Anabolic's series for lesbian action is the well known Nasty Girls and the latest volume from their back catalog to be released is Nasty Girls 24. The series offers a host of porn stars in lesbian scenes from before they were at the top of the heap without any of the plot or dialogue that offend so many reviewers. Scene One: Ariana, the hotty from Andrew Blake's movies, April, the lean gal that has been around forever, and Rachel, in what was billed as her first scene, all got busy with one another on a bed in a lesbian scene. All the gals snacked on each other's muffs and there was some foot fetish action (briefly) but the best moments for me in this very long scene related to when the toys came out. There was some anal toy usage but most of the time, it was just in the pussy and the three gals looked all natural and all hot.

Scene Two: Aurora, the performer known for her winning ways and anal antics, and Kami, a gal that could be her sister since they look so much alike, had a scene on the bed after a brief interview. The gals started off with Aurora using a toy on Kami's crotch. Kami got some licks in to reciprocate and Aurora looked aroused most of the scene. The two switched locations and toys, taking each other on in a few ways before using a larger toy between them. Ass to ass action always looks cool and Aurora was the winner of the battle of the babes here.

Scene Three: Sharon, a blonde that was popular in the industry long ago, and the infamous redhead Shelbee, had a scene after their interview. Back when this was made, Shelbee had been staging something of a comeback, having been out of porn for three years. She looked fitter than when she left and those who like MILFs will appreciate her for what she was at the time (slightly older than your average Vivid performer, but more sexually aggressive). The two stripped on the bed and got to taste one another but the toy use was minimal in my mind. Shelbee took the anal vibrator and it was somewhat of a limited scene.

Scene Four: Brittany, a lean gal with all natural parts and Luna, a gal with larger breasts who could use Brittany's ID at any club I've ever been in (they looked very much alike), had their lesbian scene after a short interview. The scene had no toys, just them playfully licking one another all over and using their fingers to get off. The gals seemed to enjoy the action more than most of the other performers in the movie and I really liked their energy level as they rubbed crotches together.

Scene Five: Mina and Rumica, a couple of blondes from yesteryear, and brunette Grace, followed the formula in their bedroom scene. The audio was not synchronized and this initially proved distracting but the sexual antics were very similar to the rest of the show so it didn't matter too much. The gals made out, licked one another and used fingers to get one another off for the entire scene. No toys were used and the action was decidedly mixed in terms of heat since they didn't appear to enjoy lesbian action in the case of the two blondes (making it somewhat mechanical in nature).

Summary: I'm going to rate this one as a Rent It since the heat was not what I expected after seeing Volume 22 and singing its praises. The women weren't quite as good (on average), the action was more mixed in terms of heat and chemistry and the production values took a step backwards, even though it was a more recent release. Don't get me wrong, if you enjoy watching porn gals do one another, you'll like this one more than average, it just wasn't as good as many of the latest works I've seen.
