Overview: Zero Tolerance and director DaWayne Dane take a crack at making an all ethnic parody of Friday, the cult-comedy that made Ice Cube a reputable actor and catapulted Chris Tucker to Hollywood fame. Originally, the stoner comedy didn't fare well at the box office, but found its calling on home video with urban audiences and stoners alike. The adult entertainment landscape has seen dozens of parodies these past few years; however, ethnic parodies have been non-existent for whatever reason you might have. Interestingly enough, Zero Tolerance's 'Official Friday Parody' boasts an all black cast, which may work to its advantage, especially with such comedic material as Friday. Join me as I take a comprehensive look at DaWayne Dane's 'Official Friday Parody.'

Once the parody sets up with its main characters, the first sex scene begins with Aryana Adin, Cuntre Pipes and Wesley Pipes. The scene is not stock footage from a previous title, but looks to be something shot for the parody; however, for whatever reason it ended up on the editing room floor. Special Features: The extras included are a behind the scenes feature, a photo gallery, a bonus scene with Porsha Carrera, and a cumshot reel. The behind the scenes feature runs an impressive sixty minutes and gives a nice overview of the three-day shoot. DaWayne Dane keeps a playful attitude on set as most actors look relaxed and comfortable. The BTS cameraman interviews most of the cast and keeps rolling while the cast is working or waiting to work. Meanwhile, the bonus scene with Porsha Carrera is briefly reviewed above for anyone interested. The scene is a nice touch and clocks in at twenty minutes. The other "extras" are a simple photo gallery and a cumshot reel.

Audio/Video Quality: Audio is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo, which is the industry standard with most skin flicks. The audio is strong and never strays with negative artifacts. The majority of the dialogue comes in clear, especially as DaWayne Dane utilized professional equipment over the standard camera mounted microphone. Additionally, DaWayne Dane shot 'Official Friday Parody' for Zero Tolerance using the 1.78:1 scope and is presented in 480i. The colors are strong even with harsh light from the outdoor scenes; however, the sex scenes prove to be well-lit with accurate flesh tones. Lighting could have been stronger, but interracial performers tend to be a little more difficult to accurately shoot.

Final Thoughts: I had high expectations for this parody, especially since the original 'Friday' was the first DVD I purchased in 1999. I was unsure what to expect from an interracial parody, and ultimately, I have mixed feelings about the finished product. Dawayne Dane and crew were able to capture the natural feel and ghetto spirit of the original movie, but there's something missing. The girls are average and none are truly eye candy; however, the parody has something for everyone. The sex is average to decent and will keep most viewers entertained. More importantly, the parody fills a void in ethnic comedy spoofs, which the industry has seriously overlooked during the parody rush of the past few years. Recommended
