Extra's: Unlike My Plaything Jenna Jameson 2, there weren't a lot of extras this time. The principle extra was a 7.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that I strongly suggest avoiding if you want to keep the illusion of sexual fantasy alive since it gave me the impression that Sabrine was going through the motions in the show as it was recorded. The other extras included a photogallery and some trailers. In short, there wasn't much added value by way of extras.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in 1.78:1 ratio widescreen color and looked pretty clear. There were some minor visual flaws, including pattern noise, color saturation, and lighting errors but fans of Ms. Maui won't likely notice them for a long time. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English and was also done with some care although it wasn't the best effort in the series. There wasn't a lot of separation between the channels and vocal clarity would sometimes be off a bit yet even I didn't think it was a regular occurrence for the audio to shows flaws.

Body of Review: One genre of porn is especially designed for a limited market above all others. That genre is the virtual sex show. The conceptual basis for the genre is to have a single gal, typically a fan favorite (or at least a gal that will be heavily marketed as such), be recorded in a number of different positions against a plain background with an anonymous male so the audience can fantasize that they are the ones boning her. Using your remote control, you can manipulate her actions and attitude in order to control a series of short loops for your viewing pleasure with a close up or medium shot depending on your mood. The movies are therefore much like a videogame with some measure of input needed in order to get the gal doing what you want, although on a type of "rail" system that can't be deviated from. At this writing, there are only two companies actively pursuing this limited genre; Digital Playground with their Virtual Sex and Digital Sin with their My Plaything series. The latest such release from Digital Sin is My Plaything: Sabrine Maui, and it centers on the lean, attractive Asian gal that has been developing a fan audience for the past several years.

Known for her energetic performances almost as much as her looks, Sabrine is probably one of the best choices for such a series since she has the entire package to offer up the casual fan. One of the limitations of such releases is that if you aren't into the performer, you're not going to like the show yet Sabrine seems able to convert those who watch even more than some of her contemporaries that have graced the series in the past. One look at her on the front cover will tell you if you'd be even slightly interested but don't let her look alone dictate her desirability since she tends to be known for over-the-top action too. With that said, here's a look at the DVD:

If you've ever played with one of these DVDs, you'll know that the action is broken up into several categories that you control. You can use Tease, where Sabrine will play with, and talk about her tits, ass and pussy to coax your interest as a start. Depending on what mood you put her in, she'll act accordingly before you're ready to move onto the Masturbation action. There, you'll get to see her use her fingers, a dildo on her pussy or a dildo on her ass to simulate a short session of self-love. To me, she seemed most at ease during this section but that observation was very personal and your mileage may vary.

Next up was the inevitable Foreplay option. Sabrine offers herself up to being pleasured by your tongue, fingers, a dildo or a double dildo (ass and pussy at the same time). The moaning here seemed really fake but if you're a fan, you'll be able to overlook it in favor of the fantasy of seeing your favorite performer at work.

So, you're tired of the warming up action and want to see Sabrine really get some dick, not just a dildo? Well, that's where the stunt penis comes in (I believe it was the goateed Mark Ashley who was plainly in the background in the BTS feature). The positions this time were missionary (pussy or ass), doggie, cowgirl (pussy or ass), and a blowjob. I thought he looked large for her in each sequence, which is something fans apparently enjoy, but it was also kind of fake (beyond the usual faked moaning). As with all the other action, you could control her attitude for nice or nasty, with each making a different impression, and you could make them orgasm on command but, as with other releases in the genre, the male pop shot was computer generated and her ability to convince me was limited.

My overall impression of DVD was that it was a step back from Virtual Sex with Jesse Jane or even the older My Plaything Jenna Jameson 2 in terms of technology. The access times when switching each loop were excessive and that is one of the primary weaknesses of the genre at this writing. No one likes to wait around for the scenery to change as it detracts from the heat. The oft-complained about computer generated pop shots were weak too. By now, I'm sure someone in porn could've worked up a more realistic pop shot but both companies use the same one and it looks fake as heck. Thankfully, during the blowjob scene you can finish him off with a real load to her mouth but that's a little too little, a little too late.

The good thing about the DVD is that now fans of Sabrine will have something they can own to showcase her skills, even if she wasn't having her best day in front of the camera. She is an attractive gal and I recommend you look for some of her performances to see what she has to offer since she can really coax out a load or two from a guy. I would've liked to have seen her do a strip tease dance and have longer loops to watch but until the next technological advances allow for it, I won't hold my breath. Another plus for fans is the amount of anal she took, much more than most of the other gals starring in these types of shows. Sure, this one was limited in many ways but it had a lot to offer too so make your decision based on your needs, not mine.

Summary: The genre is thriving as evidenced by the popularity of Virtual Sex with Jesse Jane and My Plaything Jenna Jameson 2, each of which remain on best seller lists everywhere, long after their releases. Those in porn know that most titles sell well for a couple of months at best and then drop off the charts unless it's award time or a company markets them aggressively. While I think My Plaything: Sabrine Maui only rates a Rent It, fans of hers will accept all the limitations and snatch it up like the gold it will be for them. She's a hotty and the DVD caters to those who see her as such but the replay value was diminished by the lack of extras and the limited selections offered on the DVD.
