Extras: The box cover suggests that there is a bonus scene involved but for my money, that only seems to be part of the actual movie; albeit a scene without the same choices as the rest of the sex simulator. There was a very brief interview lasting 1:08 minutes, a 3:33 minute long photogallery, and a few pages of text instructions but that’s it. The second side to the DVD cover has advertising but that’s hardly worth discussion either.

Audio/Video Quality: Sakura Interactive was presented in an anamorphic widescreen color presentation of 1.78:1 as released by DVSX. There was no director credited but the lighting was okay and that limited the amounts of grain and video noise. There did seem to be a soft focus on some portions of the clips and the color temperature and other settings on the two cameras used to shoot the movie were not matched up but the bitrate hovered around the lower 7 Mbps mark most of the time and I saw no compression artifacts; though it was shot on video and not film. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English using the standard 192 Kbps. The vocals Miko provided were a bit on the hollow side, there was no separation between the tracks, and the dynamic range appeared to be strictly from the built in microphone on the camera.

Body of Review: DVSX is a smaller company that has seen significant turnaround in its directing pool over recent years but still manages to make some solid hardcore fuck flicks when the right casts are assembled. Almost all of their efforts to date have been gonzo or vignette titles, eschewing the feature and related markets as too shallow and target marketed but the company has recently thought to expand into a new area; the sex simulator. The title is Sakura Interactive: Anime Sex Simulator #1: Miko Sinz and seems to be patterned after the two leading brand names in the field; the Digital Playground: Virtual Sex With…Series and Digital Sin: My Plaything Series in how a series of clips are put together for the viewer to select them at will. The biggest complaint I hear about any of the titles in this genre is the formulaic manner in which they are shot, followed by how short they are and the male ejaculation scene being faked so I was interested in seeing how this one would compare. That said, here is a brief look at the title, noting that no condoms were used:

Okay, you know the scoop; the Sakura Interactive Anime Sex Simulator #1: Miko Sinz has a series of short clips that you can select from to see Miko in action sexually. The routine allows for two camera angles (different cameras with different settings so they make for an abrupt change when you move back and forth) that provide slightly different camera angles to the action taking place and Miko is the only gal on the DVD. Her partner is a hapless mope that looks familiar (much like Jack Lawrence though I’m pretty sure it isn’t him) and during the sex portions of the show, he does all the usual tricks and selecting “Climax” will cause him to give her a moderate facial of population pudding that she rubs around her face.

The main page allows you to pick from Miko giving her short biography, a modest photogallery, her “bonus scene” where the guy downloads her, has oral and vaginal sex with her for 13:52 minutes, the instruction pages, and the four main headers: strip, masturbate, foreplay, and sex. The strip selection simply has Miko peeling off her black nurse fetish outfit with a large sex Manga in the background. Masturbate leads to a section for Tits, Pussy, and Ass, as well as Blowjob and Sex leads to Missionary, Doggy, Cowgirl, and Reverse Cowgirl. In all then, there was not a lot of variation; the simulator a truncated version of the series’ offered up by Digital Playground and Digital Sin.

Instead of giving you a lot of boring talk about the show, I added some screen captures to it but ultimately, this is going to be a DVD you will like due to the devotion to Miko Sinz more than anything else. Her pink wig was cute and many folks like her type of lean, all natural body but she was far from the best performer I’ve seen of late. She did get moderately active during her limited vaginal ride but there was no chemistry between the performers and the energy levels were based largely on the mechanical friction they engaged in being barely tolerable. The DVD was labeled as “fully interactive” on the front cover; you know, the cover where she sports the assault rifle on her hip, but there was less interactivity than in most similar offerings so your mileage may vary a whole lot if you’re a casual fan and don’t find this one in the bargain basement.

Summary: Sakura Interactive by DVSX and their uncredited director was not up to the level of achievement that either the Digital Playground: Virtual Sex With…Series or Digital Sin: My Plaything Series has arrived at but it was pretty close and like Anarchy’s version of the series, there might be enough for a fan to agree with my rating of Rent It or better, based on your attraction to lead performer Miko Sinz. In short, the levels of fuck for the buck and replay value were not all that great but Sakura Interactive: Anime Sex Simulator #1: Miko Sinz might have provided the necessary training for the company to push forward with better efforts in the future so consider this a head’s up, even if not a glowing recommendation.
