Audio/Video Quality: Happy Endings was presented in a visually appealing anamorphic widescreen color using an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 as shot by director Mike Quasar for Zero Tolerance using the MPEG-2 codec employed by standard definition releases with a 480 resolution. The lighting was strong, eliminating the shadows and grain I dislike so much, the overall look of the show being just as good as most gonzo offerings these days. The bitrate tended to hover around the mid 5 Mbps area most of the time I paid any attention to it, the composition of the camera angles typically optimal for the ladies. The composition of the scenes enhanced the look of the ladies, each of them used to softer lighting in recent scenes, this particular cast able to handle the added lighting quite well. The sole audio track was presented in 1.0 Dolby Digital English using the standard 192 Kbps rate using a 48 kHz sampling rate most titles are mastered with, the aural experience fairly limited but much like the gonzo titles he likes to shoot. There was also no separation between the channels and the dynamic range was as truncated as ever, standard gonzo audio being okay for most consumers. The voices could be clearly heard though, the balancing between those and the music capably handled.

Body of Review: Mike Quasar is a popular director at Zero Tolerance, his lengthy career full of humor and heated sex scenes few of his peers can match. His latest title sent to me for review is Happy Endings, a five scene all sex flick starring women such as Chanel Preston, Brooklyn Jade, and Vanessa Cage. Each of the scenes centered on massages with the proverbial “happy ending”, the partners getting off on each other with a lot of hand to gland action included. The back cover described the movie like this: “There’s nothing more relaxing than an all-over body rub-down to de-stress, so why not take it to the limit and go for the “full release” with the hottest XXX massage therapists in the biz? Let their gentle hand strokes soothe your stiffest muscle nice and easy, then faster and harder until that warm tight grip pushes you right over the edge into pure bliss! Chanel Preston leads the cast of this feel-good fuck flick that answers the eternal massage parlor question: Can I get a happy ending? Now’s your chance to unwind with the ultimate massage fantasy!” Here’s a really brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Mischa Brooks, a cute newcomer with pretty eyes, was up first as she struggled to get her massage table up the steps of the nice house owned by Michael Vegas. Scene Five: Chanel Preston, the fetching beauty seen featured on the front cover, was up last and the scene started with her already disrobed and on the massage table. I hate the corner cutting done here and would have appreciated seeing some tease with her given the strength of her previous efforts, Dale DaBone portraying the aging lothario masseuse here. The two of them did appear to have a degree of personal chemistry (maybe lust?) for each other though, the oil glistening on her sweet body as they carried on a bunch of dialogue. His hands started in on her private parts and his mouth pushed her over the edge, her own oral skills coming into play before they vaginally fucked fairly well. The scene then ended when she knelt before him and jerked him off all over her pretty face, the amount of splooge looking a bit weird.

Summary: Happy Endings by director Mike Quasar for Zero Tolerance was a mixed batch of scenes so I rated it as Rent It, the theme of massage experts providing a little something extra in their services at times offering some strokability and replay value (primarily Chanel Preston’s scene). The replay value was not as solid as most company efforts, the technical qualities just as solid as Mike is known for, some of the energy displayed here better than the casting of relative newcomers in four of the scenes. In short, Happy Endings was not the most original series of scenes released by the company of late but there was enough worth at least checking out so give it a look to see if this one might work for you better than it did for me.
