Audio/Video Quality: Belladonna: The Sexual Explorer was presented in the usual 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Belladonna for Evil Angelin a standard definition release using the MPEG-2 codec with 480 resolution. As expected, the mixed level of lighting resulted in some grain and video noise, the creative team behind the project focusing on raw energy and kink over technical superiority, most of the scenes looking unpolished and rough. Still, the action was clear enough and fetish fans will find the sheer amount of fuck for the buck to be enough to largely compensate for the technical limitations that still remain. The camera angles were a mixed batch and the video bitrate hovered in the high 4.9 Mbps area when I spot checked it, the relative lack of editing an interesting approach. In any case, the audio was presented in a similar fashion with a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in the usual 192 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate) offering that sounded hollow with no separation between the channels and no music to bore you with. Still, it was not significantly worse than most gonzo titles out at this time, the sonic portion less important to most fans than the visuals.

Body of Review: Belladonna has long been a leader in the porn world, her dedication to exploring all sorts of sexual liaisons heavily documented all over the place. As a director and performer for Evil Angel she has quite literally pushed the limits of what can and can’t be done for entertainment purposes, the young lady always keeping her mind open to new possibilities. Her latest movie sent me to review is a double disc offering called Belladonna: The Sexual Explorer, a series of four lengthy lesbian trysts that incorporated the ladies having a great time even outside of sexual endeavors, thus building up more heat and connection between the director and her partners, much like the old travelogues provided by Shane, Seymore Butts, or yes, John Stagliano. If you absolutely hate seeing the gals play with clothing on or not getting right down to sexual action right away, there is a chance that you’ll find this one tedious but for the record, I did not. For me, it embraced the idea that having a good time outside of bed (or, in this case often enough, public places) could make the sex better, the teases and good times amplifying the ultimate payoff much like real life does when we’re trying to hook up. The performers joining Bella included Mia Rose, Francesca Le, Dana DeArmond, Sinn Sage, and Sarah Shevon, so there was also some sexual diversity included as well.

We get to see Bella and adventurous, lovely Dana DeArmond on a road trip ... and getting it on in a moving car! Belladonna and another acclaimed performer/director, MILF beauty Francesca Le, spend some indulgent quality time in a spa. Kinky cutie Sinn Sage and pretty Sarah Shevon go wild with Bella on a party bus. Then there's Mia Rose - the lustful minx had previously appeared in precious few all-girl scenes, but making love to Belladonna was her dream. It comes true in Mia's own bedroom. Naturally, every girl here sports an all-natural body. And Bella’s simultaneously libidinous and loving presence brings out their all-natural charms. "Belladonna: Sexual Explorer" is a guided tour of female passion at its most real.” Here’s a very brief look at the cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Belladonna, Sarah Shevon, and Sinn Sage, were up first as they explored “Go Kart World” and a round of Dance Dance Revolution before getting on a chartered fun bus together. The ladies apparently had the thing all to themselves, trading stripper moves and lounging around before a quick stop to a convenience store for party supplies. The sex portion began about 25 to 30 minutes into the scene, Bella initiating the action by stripping and then getting oral on her pals. They were into the moment and gave as much as they received, a lot of kissing and caressing taking place as much as a casual enjoyment of their sexuality rare in porn (modern or classic) on display. The lighting was weaker than in the other scenes by a significant margin but it seemed necessary to help establish the intimacy the ladies shared, no need of toys or men beating off spunk to make it a powerfully sexual experience. It lasted 95 minutes and while it could have been trimmed in half to showcase just the sex, maybe even less, but that would have changed the entire dynamic to make it less interesting to watch.

Scene Two: Francesca Le, a very popular MILF, was up next in a thin red dress (you could see her nipples through the material), was up next with casually dressed Belladonna, the two making out on the sidewalk as well as walking hand in hand. No one in the public venue seemed to care, their comments about the area in front of the sex toy store putting each other at ease. They went back to a stylish spa location where Bella told Francesca she was in for a “day of pleasure”, the pair pawing each other while dressed in front of the pool. They kissed at length and gobbled each other up orally, sharing a lengthy shower and heated spa really well. There was time using all the amenities and they were soon using toys on each other (a wand vibrator and strap on dildo proving most helpful), the visual elements taking a hit for some reason around this time. They took a break to eat after some costume play, Aiden making some insightful comments as did Francesca and Bella (particularly regarding male sexuality and role playing).

Scene Three: Mia Rose, a fetching young woman with beautiful eyes, was up next with Belladonna. Initially, Bella fantasized about Mia while driving to hook up with her, masturbating in the car as it rode down the city streets. She was topless and pushed her panties to the side, getting daring by using a large pink dildo to work herself over with as she passed by others on the road (dangerous folks, leave this to the professionals). Once at Mia’s, they talked about videogames and her cute dog, Bella pawing her as she played online (yes gaming geeks, she likes to play videogames online). Mia was naked except for a skimpy red thong, a discussion of sex toys (Aiden jumping in to add comments from time to time) leading to a trip to the roving ice cream man and a dip in the modest apartment complex pool. They were almost at the one hour mark of the scene when they engaged each other in bed, the belief that allowing some sexual tension to build over time making the tryst all the better when it finally took place proving correct. They ate ass and pussy with abandon, deployed penetrative toys at a glacial pace, and simply had fun together with levels of personal chemistry so obvious that even a hack could see them clearly. The nod to foot fetish action was more than a simple portion of the scene too, Bella relishing Mia’s dainty feet in a way that almost had me interested in the niche (for the record, it was exciting in spite of the feet play for me, not because of it as would be the case with an aficionado). They got off a few times and shared each other fully, the abundance of touching alone meriting discussion. It ended at the 103 minute mark, Mia seeing them out to the gate and Bella sighing at how much fun she had, no need for wads of genetic juice or population pudding coursing through the air to let fans know this was a winner.

Scene Four: Dana DeArmond, an alt-porn matron and gonzo anal queen unicorn all rolled into one, was up last as Belladonnavisited her in a modest city apartment. Dana introduced her to her hairless cat and they spoke of their last movie together (in 2009), the gals hugging on the cheap couch before gazing at Dana’s extensive panty and sex toy collection. There was then a segment where they washed the car on the front cover in bikinis, the thumping music providing the visuals with some context as they sprayed the car clean. Unlike the last scene, the ladies jumped each other in the back seat of the car much faster here, Bella going for the feet at length but moving to the rest of Dana’s willing body soon enough. Dana reciprocated immediately afterwards, proving she was not gay for pay as she inhaled Bella’s pussy and ass in the car as it rode down the road in public. Summary: Belladonna: The Sexual Explorer by Belladonna for Evil Angel was definitely a winner change of pace for gonzo lesbian smut. The sexual encounters were allowed to build up some heat and chemistry well beyond the generic trysts displayed elsewhere, with no formulaic weaknesses killing the end result. The casting was superior too, all the ladies were into the action with Belladonna, Mia Rose and Francesca Le my favorites but Sarah, Dana, and Sinn very strokable too. The replay value and strokability merited a rating of Highly Recommended or better from me, and I’m generally a hard sell when it comes to putting off the sex in favor of travelogue material or technical issues that result in anything less than a perfectly crisp picture. In short, Belladonna: The Sexual Explorer will appeal to those that want to see free form lesbian gonzo sexual encounters in a number of settings, Belladonna always the constant driving force in the four lengthy scenes sealing the deal with a squeal.
