Audio/Video Quality: Swans of L.A.: Season One was presented in a crisp anamorphic widescreen offering as shot by director Robby D. for Digital Playground. Robby D. wrote the show but Sir Richard Manwin III, Alex Tea, Mickey Doom, and Billy Da Kid were credited with working cameras, Joey Pulgadas and Keethan Hawke handling editing, and a large group of others providing their own technical assistance. There was a lot of texture and variation of lighting, like a “real” series instead of a porno with warehouse lighting, making it visually more appealing though some of the trysts could have used more lighting (my preference). The aural qualities by Seth Cardigan were modest but presented in a post production added 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround, the elevated bit rate of 448 Kbps not hurting the ability to hear the vocals, some pretty good music included though it wasn’t credited to anyone.

Body of Review: Digital Playground has long stood out as one of the biggest feature porn producers in the industry, popular director Robby D. coming out with a web series called Swans of L.A.: Season One, now released on a double disc set. The show had eight episodes of varying lengths and reminded me of “Crave”, the company’s last outing in a series format, my appreciation for the series format growing with each release. I don’t want to spoil the feature elements but they were handled quite well in most ways, enough screen time devoted to fleshing some aspects out as can be expected. Tasha Reign, Siri, Mia Malkova, and Anna Morna were the four leads vying for roles and enjoying sexual trysts as the opportunities arose, a lot of partial scenes included where the action ended sooner than a guy’s pop shot but basically, each episode had a single main sex scene of one on one sex, most of them with a male and a female.

The back cover said: “Porn star Tasha Reign is the hottest crossover star to hit the Hollywood scene. Paired with her best friends and fellow porn stars, Anna Morna and Mia Malkova, as well as her younger porn sister, Siri, they take the industry by storm, fucking fans and having fun doing it! The sexual trysts were fairly basic but at least some credible attempt was made to provide the kind of drama one might see on a night time soap opera, the performers doing a capable job in most cases of working with the material the director provided them with, meaning the feature elements worked at least as well as the sexual aspects of the flick. In short, Swans of L.A.: Season One might not be quite ready for prime time but the players offered up a wealth of sexual soap opera drama that fans of the cast should appreciate, all the scenes tied into one another in varying degrees of quality so check it out.
