Audio/Video Quality: League of Frankenstein was presented in a crisp anamorphic widescreen offering as shot by director Dick Bush for Digital Playground. Chris Rocks and Ali Brightwell were credited with working cameras, Dave Brian with special effects, Maddie Robins with makeup, There was a lot of texture and variation of lighting, like a “real” series instead of a porno with warehouse lighting, making it visually more appealing though some of the trysts could have used more lighting (my preference) and other areas could have stood a second take due to too much lighting or camera positioning. The aural qualities were presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital, the bit rate 192 Kbps not hurting the ability to hear the vocals, some pretty good music included though it wasn’t credited to anyone.

Body of Review: Digital Playground has long stood out as one of the biggest feature porn producers in the industry, Brazzers director Dick Bush coming out with a web series recently called League of Frankenstein, now released on a double disc set. The show had eight episodes of varying lengths and continued the company’s series format, the starlets including Mia Malkova, Jasmine Jae, Franceska Jaimes, and Tina Kay, among others. The story elements centered on a female version of the mainstream “League of Gentlemen”, picking various characters from fantasy to serve as a front guard team to fight a dark evil ready to terrorize humanity, with a healthy amount of sexual exploits to be had along the way.

The back cover described the movie like this: “In the early 20th Century, suave genius scientist Victor Frankenstein works with a grown up Peter and Wendy to open a portal to another dimension. When a sexy hooked handed female pirate is released into their world with an eye for domination and destruction, only a team comprising of the greatest heroes of their time can defeat her and so Frankenstein assembles a fighting comprised of female monster hunter Van Helsing from Dracula, gun toting archaeologist Jane, violent headcase Alice and a certain magical warrior fairy. Only together can they defeat the pirate army but first they must learn to work together. In short, League of Frankenstein provided fans of the company a glimmer of hope that the series format they have adopted in recent years has not fallen by the wayside, the production somewhat uneven compared to the company’s better days years ago but showing some quirky attempts at humor and fun worth checking out.
