 The Movie:  Cecile  who is  played by Melissa Lauren leads  us  down a  very  perversed  road of  what  should be the  life of a newly born  vampire  but  the  story is  so confusing which  in my  opinion porn shouldn't  be confusing at  all. Another thing that  catches my eye is how  can you call it  vampire porn if the  performers aren't  wearing  fangs and  show no  resemblance of a  vampire at  all. Granted it  has  three  orgy scene that bleed  right into the other and  offer no real  stimulation where as the b/g scenes are  more arousing all together. But it  does have its perks  for those that  came  keep up with the confusion.

Ritual directed  by Moiré Candy,  produced by Marcel Dorcel and distributed  by Wicked  Pictures is  presented in is  2.0 Dolby Digital Surround Sound and in  an anamorphic 16.9 widescreen format. Filmed in French, the option menus lets you chose the language. It was very interesting watching an adult title and reading the captions. The audio  dubbing wasn't the  greatest  but in the long  run  it  really  didn't  matter that much  especially  during the  sex scenes. The lighting was off by  a lot and  there was  a lot of  grain to the  picture  quality , and  the  flesh  tones came off  rather  dull. The lighting at times was too soft and there was a lot of shadowing in the background.

Opening Scene: Cecile played  by  Melissa  Lauren  does the  scene  narrations as she  explains how her life has  changed as  an  immortal. Scene 1: Julie Silver, Martin Schneider, Melissa Lauren, Oliver Sanchez, Regina Ice ,Suzie Carina, Veronica De Souza :

 In  the  first of  three orgy scenes,  lasting roughly  fifteen minutes this a mindless  fucking free  for all with plenty  of  action for  everyone's tastes. With   the entire cast partially dressed and wearing feathered mask they pair up with two others engaging in b/g/g and  g/g or b/g/b. The scene contains so much for one to   focus on entirely. 3-  Sex is sex no matter what language the movie is in.. It's just funnier listening to the cast dirty talking in every language offered.

 What Didn't:

1- My  pet  peeve  when it comes to porn is when the  performers aren't  all listed and one  has to  attempt to indentify  them. That drives me insane. Male talent especially!

2- An  orgy scene that is  too busy to  focus  in on just one  couple.  I can just  picture a guy  with his  cock in his hand  whacking off and  unable to  get off because of all the  jumping  around from  couple to  couple.

3- In other  Dorcel  films that I have  reviewed, the dubbing and  subtitles weren't as  poorly  done as  in Ritual.

4-When  porn writers try  to work in the  vampire  theme into its  story they  should be clear in classifying what  kind of  vampire they are  referring too..  A Sexual Vampire feeds off the energy and emotions during sex which is what I am amusing what they are trying to get across but then  show the  vampire bites on Melissa's throat.

5-A blowjob with a condom on (Scene 2)?? Explain that? What was the purpose of it? And  why you  even  consider doing so with how condom friendly  titles  tend not to fair as well as no condom use at  all?

Final Thoughts: Director Moiré Candy had their hands full while working on Ritual. From what I saw, they tried to put too much into the orgy scenes and not enough in the b/g scenes. The orgy scenes had too much going on all at once making it difficult to enjoy( for me at least). All of the technical issues which I noted prior took very little a way from the performers and their coupling on screen. I would have preferred that they had used  English  subtitles instead of the other options but one cant have  everything  they  want  from Dorcel Films.

As a  couple friendly porn, I had a  hard time  rating it just on the  sex alone and   finally  ended up with a " Rent It" because of the overkill . Sometimes too much isn't worth it or  the time  one  puts into watching it and  just might end up turning it off and  popping in something else to  watch...
