The Movie:

This European porno with a plot from director Francois Regis and producer Marc Porel finds a bunch of campers heading out to the woods for a bit of rest and relaxation. A couple of different groups co-mingle and basically start fucking one another, which complicates relations just a little bit. The plot in this one is decent enough to keep things moving, which is important because you will go a good twenty minutes between sex scenes at one point. Performance wise, a lot of the actors are dubbed so it's kind of hard to gauge but 'good enough' is probably an apt description. Here's a look at the ever important sex scenes:

Scene 1 - Daria Glower And Some Guy: These two start getting hot and heavy in the back of the bus. As mentioned, there are long stretches in the film without sex and that might put some people off if they're just looking for a quick wank, but the storyline here is fun and features a couple of interesting twists along the way.

The DVD

Video:

Presented in 1.78.1 anamorphic widescreen, the transfer for My Scary Movix would actually pretty decent if it didn't shimmer like crazy throughout the film and if it weren't riddled with compression artifacts. Color reproduction is nice and there's plenty of detail to look at but the shimmering is really bad here and it gets very distracting after a couple of minutes as the picture is constantly jittering and bouncing around. The jittering and compression artifacts really hurt the picture, however - the movie doesn't look as good as it should.

Sound:

Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo tracks are offered up in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian and Polish with subtitles offered up in Romanian, Hungarian, Greek, Portuguese, and Czech! The stereo track here is fine. Dialogue is easy to follow and the levels are well balanced. There aren't any problems to report with hiss or distortion and it's never a problem following the film.

Extras:

First up in the 'X-Tra Pleasures' section is Vulve Fiction (0:41), which is basically just a quick, humorous safe sex advertisement of some sort. Also in this section is Erection Fatal (0:46), another humorous safe sex/AIDS awareness spot. More substantial is bonus strip tease #1 (4:03) where a sexy European brunette strips down on the couch for us. A second strip tease (4:07) follows suit and offers up a different take on the same concept!

A Making Of (29:11) featurette is offered up in English, French or German. Presented in pixilated non-anamorphic widescreen, it takes us behind the scenes of the production and offers up some fairly superficial interviews with the cast and crew members of this production. The hardcore footage often times has big pink X's on top of it, which is a bit frustrating.

Rounding out the extra features are eight bonus trailers, a still gallery, animated menus and chapter selection.

Final Thoughts:

If the transfer were better this would come recommended as there's a fun story here with some solid sex scenes. Unfortunately the image quality leaves a lot to be desired so My Scary Movix really isn't worth more than a rental.
