The Movie:

What the Hell is The Domestication Of Erotic Cat? After viewing this Japanese AV title, I'm still not really sure. There's some sort of theme established in the opening moments but this is quickly tossed out the window in favor of random sexual encounters so it's best not to think too much about the plot points and enjoy the decent sex scenes for what they are. Unusually translated text blurbs on the cover art such as 'come together heat service,' 'the pure crazy girl of dangerous temptation' and 'look at Maya's technique' make the packaging fun to look at but the real reason to check this release out is for the last two scenes. The first three vignettes are solid but the last two, with the girl on girl action, easily trump what came before.

The DVD

Video:

The 1.33.1 fullframe picture is pretty solid. It's interlaced, but it's bright and colorful and contains very good color reproduction and natural looking skin tones. Detail is strong throughout and there aren't any problems with compression artifacts or heavy edge enhancement. This isn't going to win any awards, but for a shot on video gonzo-fest, it looks pretty damn good.

Sound: 

The Japanese language Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track is fine, if a little shrill in spots. The dialogue is all in Japanese but there are optional English subtitles that translate the minimal amount of dialogue that begins each scene. The subs are riddled with typos however and often times they don't make any sense.

Extras: 

The only extra feature on this disc, save for menu and scene selection, is a photo gallery that you can watch one still at a time or through a slideshow feature (4:31). That's all there is, there ain't no more.

Final Thoughts:

The plot points are goofy and useless but the sex is very hot and Maya Hoshino is very, very attractive and quite a skilled performer. Something gets lost in the translation in the first few minutes but the international language of hot sex speaks loud and clear and The Domestication Of Erotic Cat comes recommended.
