The Movie: Playgirl has gone back once again into their secret vault of goodies using footage shot back in   2004. As I have mentioned in numerous reviews, there is always a Hit or Miss Quality with them. Each of the vignettes was well done though the footage was either a bit too dark or didn't use enough light filters to block out the strong rays of the sun. PlayGirl's Sex Spells is an erotic  soft core DVD made for women and couples that do not enjoy the hard core genre of the adult movies but want something to put them in the mood. Even the cover of the DVD is especially designed to attract a woman's desires at the point of purchase.

The DVD:

Audio/Video: PlayGirl's Sex Spells is distributed by Wicked Pictures for Playgirl TV, and presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound Full Screen format. The lighting in each scene was decent with some minor shadowing. Each scenes lighting was different due to the nature of the scene and trying to keep with the   romantic and sensual aspect of setting. The colors appeared to be  very  dull and the picture at  times  was  very  grainy. The camera when it should have panned in closer always was too far away making the picture fuzzy at times.

Bonus Scene: Saddle w/Nick Manning &Harmony:

Outdoors with a younger Nick Manning, he and his gal Harmony bring up the heat index up a few notches. They start off with the  foreplay  on top  of  a long  tin  tub and end up having Harmony laying over  the  saddle with  Nick  behind her. While the couple looked good together the scene was way too short for anyone to enjoy.

Solo Audition: Aaron King:

 If you have been reading all of my previous PlayGirl DVD's reviews, you know that my major pet peeves with them are the bonus solos or as they call them auditions. The young man totally disinterested and you can see that from the beginning he was already  bored with the  scene  with his  yawning. What makes you think that spending a total of 15:40 minutes watching him trying to get your juices flowing is actually worth the watch? Aaron King showed no enthusiasm nor does he have what it takes to have a solo for PlayGirl TV DVD. Maybe I'm wrong but his lack luster performance is a mood killer. Where do they find these guys???

Bonus Solo: Derrick Pierce:

Poolside and  dressed in a nice  dark  pinstripe suit, Derrick has what it takes and them so to keep you  solely  focused on him while  dancing in your seat to the techno music as he  starts to slowly  take it off. Derrick knows how to work the camera to his advantage even though the camera person should have come in a lot closer.  Now this is something that I would love to see more in a PlayGirl DVD instead of the  wannabee's  they have  been previously using.

Scene 1: Moving In - Charmane & Alex Rox:

Moving in together seems to be a lot more work than what Charmane planned. Her plan of distracting Alex works to her advantage once the clothes comes off and the individual foreplay begins. Once done with pleasuring themselves they go on to mutual  foreplay taking it then to some ok  vaginal sex.

Scene 2: Take Me Away - Roxy & Jay Huntington:

Roxy is at home tapping away on her laptop chatting it up with someone she has the hots for and hasn't met yet. Finding herself very aroused she  invites him over and they  both give into  their  desires living up to what they spoke about over  instant messenger.

Scene 3: Snow Job - Penny & Marco Banderas:

 Marco wants to  prove to his  girlfriend once and  for all that  having a dancer's body and  talent  doesn't mean he is  gay. Penny sets up the  backdrop  for  him with a snow blowing machine and a daybed to  be proven  wrong  by  Marco.  The camera in this scene was so off that you couldn't even make out that it was Penny Flame with Marco.

Scene 4: Returning the Favor - Alexis & Hershel Savage:

Remarrying and still not  being  sexually satisfied is what is on Alexis's mind.  As she  states " Its good to be  bad" and that they  were. Again the camera doesn't  do either of them  justice. Hershel gave into her naughty seduction taking his mind of  doing her taxes and  ends up doing her.

Scene 5: A Bath Before Bed - Claire & Steven St. Croix:

Make up sex is so much  better after you  work  up a sweat first. Claire and Steven  get all worked up and sweaty  after a big fight  which has  them in the tub  lathering the other  up first before they  really make up. Again the  picture  quality  was  very  poor and  the  chemistry  just  didn't work with  Claire & Steven.

Scene 6: Jacuzzi - Marie & Chris Dano:

Marie is off on her own and looking to get into some  good  kind of trouble while at the  beach. Chris comes along and   peaks her  curiosity and ends up  going  back to his place  for  some  fun of their own in the  pool. OK scene but would have  enjoyed  watching  Marie with someone more  her  equal sex wise.

Final Thoughts: Being consistent is something that PlayGirl TV is not readily known for. In my previous review of PlayGirl's Dirty Delights which got a Recommended from me, Sex Spells gets a "Rent it" from me. I found it to be very corny in their ideas of what women want to see in porn. Granted this is soft core but still.. Not all women want luke warm erotica that doesn't even get them damp. Even though the scenes date back to as early as 2004, it still doesn't  explain the  picture  quality and lack of  chemistry between the  performers. Hopefully their next title "Sensual Ecstasy is better than this one..
