"Love at First Byte" is another Simon Wolf release. After "Gypsy Curse", I was eager to see what other kind of titles they had available. While I'm not a big fan of plot-focused adult films, "Gypsy Curse" used its story to tie the scenes together and spent the rest of its running time focusing on well-filmed sex.

"Love" continues along these lines, spending only a bit of time on an outline of a story (Aurora Snow plays a computer hacker who creates a perfect guy, only to find out he's from another dimension) and focuses the rest of its energy on crafting some good, hardcore sex. Although the scenes here weren't quite as consistently high-energy and erotic as the scenes in "Curse", there are still definitely some highlights here. Beautiful Holly Hollywood and equally stunning Nikita Denise have a pretty sizzing girl-on-girl scene, after which Nikita has sex with Steven St. Croix, while Holly watches and gets herself off. While it would have been nice to see Nikita still working on Holly while with the male actor, this is still a solid sequence. The last scene is the best, with the fantastic Aurora Snow giving a high-intensity performance with Evan Wood. Aurora, all dressed up in a little lacy thing as the scene begins, goes at it with her co-star in a variety of positions before the two start into anal sex. Aurora looks her best and gives one of the better performances I've seen from her. Snow continues to be a favorite adult actress, as she really believably gets into the scene and her smile is too cute - she seems to have a great personality.

These two final scenes are the highlights, but the rest of the scenes certainly aren't bad, either: Keri Windsor (who has a terrific figure) and Joel Lawrence go at it passionately in a scene that starts off with some mild spanking. Top star Asia Carrera and Evan Stone also go at it in a hot scene, where Asia really gets into it. Overall, this was a little more inconsistent and slightly less energetic presentation than the studio's "Gypsy Curse", but there's still certainly enough highlights here to make this easy to recommend.

VIDEO: This is another "Simon Wolf" title where video quality has been optimized by moving the supplements to a second disc. The result is an impresive 1.33:1 full-frame presentation that offers superb clarity and detail. Aside from a few minor artifacts, this is a solid effort.

SOUND: The 2.0 soundtrack isn't 5.1, but it still manages to clearly present all the moaning and other sounds.

EXTRAS: Extras are included on a second disc. They are: a 13-minute behind-the-scenes featurette that interviews most of the cast; a couple of bonus scenes from other Simon Wolf titles, trailers for other Simon Wolf titles, a blooper reel, director interview, photo gallery and bio section, which includes 5 interviews (Aurora Snow, Mia Smiles, Evan Stone, Keri Windsor and April)

Overall: While I was a little more impressed with the studio's "Gypsy Curse", "Love at First Byte" still gets fine performances from its stars and offers a couple of scenes that really stand out above the rest. The DVD's audio/video quality and bonus features are all superb and the $24.95 price is certainly reasonable for a good movie in a 2-DVD set.
