Audio/Video Quality: Gangbanged was presented in a decent 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as released by director Mason for Elegant Angel using the standard definition MPEG-2 codec with 480 resolution. The camera work was again solid with plentiful lighting to eliminate grain, video noise and shadows so the picture appeared to be in line with her other work to date. Mason has made or assisted on a number of titles over the years, the technical matters taking back seat to the raw energy of the sex, but her skill levels have definitely been improving with the camera too, showing she pays attention for those that care but doesn’t dwell on technical aspects. I saw no compression artifacts though there was about 4.3 Mbps video bitrate but the composition of the camera angles strongly favored the ladies and their well lit bodies. The compositions of the shots helped maximize the potential of the ladies too, rarely relying on extreme close ups all the time as some seem destined to do and the editing by Team Royson looking okay in most cases (though too abrupt at times). The 2.0 Dolby Digital English track was pretty basic with little separation or dynamic range yet I could hear the cast well enough in most cases. For those keeping track, the audio was offered in a 256 Kbps offering with a 48 kHz sampling rate, the grunts and groans heard well enough but the music by Mybeatshop not getting in the way at all.

Body of Review: Mason is one of the few remaining female directors able to “get it right” these days when it comes to making strokable, hardcore porn, her many titles at Elegant Angel serving as notice to the wannabe types that direct in name only. Her latest title is a blowbang-centric release called Gangbanged, showcasing two of the best performers in porn these days; Lisa Ann, and Bobbi Starr, both of them doing a lengthy gangbang scene with a variety of mopes. While I am not a huge fan of such scenes, I have long found the ladies in question to be well worth checking out in anything they do, the movie credited as Lisa’s first gangbang and Bobbi’s first double anal. With seven males taking on each of the ladies in question, it was clear who would succeed (or “suck seed” as it were) but in the world of sexual Olympics porn, the potential for fans to enjoy these was pretty solid. The replay value, strokability, and solid technical aspects of this gangbang offering enough to merit extra attention, my own tastes falling elsewhere except for the splendid cast of cuties. In short, Gangbanged proved that pushing limits can open up a whole new world for some women, Lisa Ann extolling the virtues of doing so repeatedly while Bobbi embraced her inner whore remarkably well.
