Extras: The first extra was a 20:42 minute long bonus scene between Scarlett Faye and Seth Gamble from “Fit To Be Tied: Alexis Ford” that came out last year. This was followed by a 22:55 minute long Behind the Scenes feature, the camerawork handled by Jax and editing by BK Sound. Audio/Video Quality: Pretty Tied Up was presented in the usual 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen by director Derrick Pierce for Adam & Eve. This being his first credited movie as director (at least for the entire movie), he knew enough to assemble a group of talented individuals using 1080/24p for an enhanced technical experience. The cameras were by producer David Lord, Barrett Blade, and Francois Clousot with the camera tech being Ren Savant & the crew chief was Eric Masterson; each of them a director for a wide variety of projects over the years. The smooth editing by John Waverly also helped make this look like a polished effort, the bottom line being that Derrick certainly hit the ground running here. The flesh tones were accurate, the visual flaws minimal, and this was visually a major improvement over the BDSM provided by both specialty companies and some of the major players remaining in porn, a healthy selection of camera angles and points of view enhancing the final product. The 2.0 Dolby Digital audio was presented using a 192 Kbps bitrate and the expected 48 kHz sampling rate, the music and audio editing by BK Sound a step in the right direction most of the time in terms of aural quality.

Body of Review: Adam & Eve has long been known as a sex toy company (a really good one at that) but it has been a major player in terms of porn too. In recent years, it has moved from a fluffy couples producer to diversify into excellent parodies and features, even dabbling in BDSM from time to time, thanks to efforts by directors such as Derrick Pierce. This being his first credited movie (outside of a scene or two), he wanted to do something different and more personal, the result of which was Pretty Tied Up. The focus of the five scenes was to provide some quality BDSM, the emphasis on rope bondage a given considering the title. Unlike the hundreds or thousands of poorly shot fetish flicks by specialty niche companies (the kind where you wonder if a monkey was manning the camera and only candlelight was used for illumination), Derrick brought together an impressive lineup of talent to handle the technical affairs, the cast picked based on their personal appreciation for the genre. The resulting chemistry enhanced the final scenes, Trina Michaels, Lily LaBeau, Kortney Kane, Bridgette B., Isis Love, and Skylar Price, all enjoying themselves a whole lot.

The technical values were solid, the replay value high, and the strokability (even for a generalist like myself) was well above average so I rated it as Highly Recommended. I appreciated that a variety of approaches were taken in the scenes and the movie did not rely on a strict formula, the quality of the production as a whole even more surprising given the fact that it was a freshman effort. In short, Pretty Tied Up was a lot of fun and well worth adding to your collections if you have even a passing interest in the cast or fetish, I hope follow up efforts will be as good.
