Audio/Video Quality: Me First was presented in a 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment using the standard definition MPEG-2 codec in 480 resolution for this DVD. The flick was shot in 1080i/60 high definition awhile back, though presented in the SD format in a short feature playing off his skills best. The lighting was well handled and this added to the pleasure of watching the gals in play as the lengthy scenes gave them enough freedom to explore their sexuality. The composition of the camera angles was almost always optimal this time, Skow seeing fit to try and enhance the look of the ladies at every turn as possible, the minor grain not bothering me nearly as much as it could have in less capable hands. The fleshtones were usually accurate too and the DVD mastering was well done (the bitrate hovering around 4.0 Mbps), even if the lighting was off at times (the company watermark will be bothersome to some out there but only some given its location). At times there appeared to be multiple cameras used on some scenes, the equipment not matched up so the edits were more readily apparent, a soft haze included at times that I could not quite explain. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 256 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent. The aural qualities of the movie appeared to offer very limited separation and dynamic range, the vocals easily heard in most cases and mixed in with the ambient noises fairly well.

Body of Review: B. Skow and Vivid Entertainment have been teaming up for years now, the resulting smut often worthy of your hard earned dollars. While other directors for the company continued to offer short sex scenes with little tease, Skow came on like gangbusters to offer strokable smut with an eye for technical excellence, the glamorized ladies getting nastier in each subsequent movie he has made. His latest flick is called Me First, starring Lia of Lia19, showing her embracing men a few more times in a way she never could when she was a lesbian-only web starlet. The cast of ladies was pretty solid with Lia, Bridgette B., Lexi Swallow, and Daisy Cruz, my hopes for some heated trysts fueled by my experiences of them in action previously. The back cover described the movie like this: “What would happen if you let your girl get off first? Well, if she was Lia, from lias19.com you just might let her. Especially if afterward she let you take her any way you wanted. How about sexy Daisy Cruz, in an over-the-top hospital scene? Or Bridgette in a jail cell, taking it in the ass? Or Lia again, as a student, teaching Tommy Gunn how to fuck her right in class? Or Lexi, who makes herself come before making her Asian fantasies come to life with Keni Styles? Seconds, anyone? We thought so. Be the first to watch Me First, only from Vivid.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Summary: Me First by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment was not the strongest offering from the company or director, the cast showing promise in some cases but not living up to their best scenes of the past in the slightest. The technical values were decent in most cases, the camera work not as consistent as Skow is known for, but the loosely tied scenes meriting a rating of Rent It for those into the specific ladies used here. In short, Me First seemed almost as if it were a collection of unrelated scenes shot over a period of time that were tossed together just to put out a movie, even the physical appeal of Lia 19 waning a bit thanks to the weakness of her performances as she transitioned into doing men. Frankly, I’d rather have a performer doing what and who they wanted to than move too quickly outside of their comfort zone, this one best suited for hardcore fans of the cast.
