Overview:  Once upon a time, Hustler's Barely Legal titles used to be among the hottest and most anticipated releases in the industry.  That, however, was when the late Clive McLean was still helming the productions.  Now with spouse Erica McLean behind the lens, the Barely Legal series limps into its 92nd volume with a selection of fresh faces that may be new to porn viewers, but don't quite entice the eye and the libido the way those older releases did. 

Scene 1:  The first scene showcases 18-year-old dark-skinned Gia Johnson, who is relaxing in a lawn chair in her garden when Jarrod Stead shows up, playing the family gardener.  There's not much in terms of foreplay in this scene (or any of the following scenes, for that matter), as the two get right down to business, starting with Jarrod performing oral on Gia.  After returning the favor with some blowjob action, viewers are treated to penetration in the doggy, reverse cowgirl and cowgirl positions, climaxing with a pop-shot into Gia's face during which she makes sure to keep both her mouth and her eyes firmly shut.  Not a great opening sequence by any adult standards.  For the record, there is no condom use here, nor in any of Barely Legal 92's five scenes. 

Scene 2:   Also dark-skinned, Lavish Styles plays a interior decorator assistant who gets Otto Bauer all worked up as she bends over and shows off her behind while measuring windows.  Lavish may be new to the industry, but she hardly seems like Barely Legal material to me - she has at least two large tattoos on her body and doesn't really give off the "fresh and innocent" vibe that has been associated with the majority of girls in past volumes.  The actual sex here is so-so, with the best bits coming when Otto tit-fucks her early in the scene, and then cums on her chest at the conclusion.  In between those two events, we get to see him fuck her missionary, doggy and cowgirl style. 

Scene 3:  After watching Tenaya's scene with Claudio Meloni, it's easy to see why Hustler chose to feature her on the box cover.  This is easily the best scene in the movie, and one good enough to move Barely Legal 92 from the "skip it" category to the "rent it" one.  Tenaya is a young girl who still lives at home with her dad, and has fun by watching his porn movies (Barely Legal, of course!) when he's not at home.  She's masturbating to one of the videos when Claudio arrives, portraying a friend of Tenaya's dad who is returning a saddle he borrowed.  Tenaya doesn't beat around the bush - notifying Claudio that she's very horny, and assuring him that she's 18 years of age.  After going down on his cock for a few minutes, Tenaya gets up onto a black stool where Claudio eats her out.  The two then switch positions so she can ride him reverse cowgirl, followed shortly by cowgirl penetration.  They then move onto a green cushion on the floor for some missionary, ending with Claudio jerking down onto her chest - almost entirely onto her left breast. 

Scene 4:  The next to last scene brings us a lesbian coupling.  The heavily-tattooed Starri Knight is the new girl in town, and she's heard that fellow resident Kendra Banx also has a taste for the ladies, so Starri seeks her out.  The two make out on a white couch, exchanging oral and fingering each other, and then taking turns getting the other off with a glass dildo.  As girl/girl scenes go, this one ranks as about average, with blonde-haired Kendra the more appealing of the two performers - so much that I almost wish she had been paired with another girl or perhaps watch her take on some cock (alas, she only appears to do girl/girl to this point in her career). 

Scene 5:  Barely Legal 92 wraps up with attractive short-haired brunette Angie Dove in a less than stellar scene with Sascha that takes place in and next to an outdoor Jacuzzi.  While Angie does have the Barely Legal "look" to her, she's more of a reactionary performer than a proactive one, which sadly gives off the impression that she's not enjoying herself.  Still, one has to give Angie props, since she's the only girl on this title to accept a cumshot into her mouth, most of which she appears to swallow down. 

A/V Quality:  As with most of their Blu-ray titles, Hustler does an admirable job with the 1080i transfer here, although the stuff shot indoors looks a tad better than the stuff shot outside.  Those who own other Hustler Blu-rays can rest assured that they'll be getting pretty much the same video quality here as on the other titles they own.  The audio, on the other hand, is more problematic, with a 2.0 track that is uneven, with most of the "Dear Barely Legal" voice-over work hard to hear and "muddy" in tone.  The actual sex portions of the title sound okay, but most viewers will have to crank up their volume during the introductory dialogue for each segment. 

Extras:  There's only enough bonus material here to grant Barely Legal 92 an average rating, and even then there's nothing that porn fans are likely to view more than once.  The bonuses consist of a 4 ½-minute Behind The Scenes featurette that is presented in full-frame/480p standard definition, along with a 5-minute (also full frame/standard-def) "How It All Began" segment on Clive McLean (that has appeared on most of the recent editions of Barely Legal, so fans of this series are likely to have seen it already).  Also included are a 20 ½-minute slide show (in 1080i), and 1080i trailers (although several are still full frame) for Asian Fever: Tokyo Girls; Barely Legal: Fitness Fanatics; Oral Education 2; Taboo: Mind Fuck; and This Ain't The Munsters XXX.  The Blu-ray also contains a selection of phone sex and Hustler store ads, including a pair of pre-loaded phone sex ads during start-up. 

Final Thoughts:  I can't be the only one who thinks Hustler's Barely Legal series is in a state of decline these days, can I?  For the past several dozen volumes, this seems to be a series that has been coasting on its name and reputation rather than its actual content.  While I did like Tenaya's segment, and think both the Kendra/Starri duo and Angie's closing scene are worth at least one viewing, with adult Blu-rays still being at a premium, there's no way I can state that Barely Legal 92 is worthy of your "porn dollar".  Try to rent it (or the DVD version) instead, and then maybe say a small prayer to the porn gods that this series returns to the glory of past releases before it hits its fast approaching 100th volume.
