Extra's: For most of you, the best extra will be the five unrelated scenes lasting 45:54 minutes. I described some of them below with a scenes from Flasher, Off the Hook, Savanna's Been Blackmaled, Stood Up, and $2 Bill. There was also a photogallery, trailers for movies like Brand New Faces #4, a biography for Savanna Samson, and some spam. My personal favorite extra though was the 11:29 minute Behind the Scenes feature by Graham Crack Herr as it spent considerable time interviewing the ladies (some with a lot of humor) and showing more of the sexual activity taking place in the scenes; even if it was only in letterbox form.

Audio/Video Quality: 59 Seconds was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment. For those unfamiliar with his background, suffice it to say that his experience outside of porn is superior to many inside the industry and it shows up in his movies, including this one as shot in HD, though presented in the SD format (for now) as shot in 1080i (per the BTS footage) to provide a lot of resolution supporting some of the effects (making it look more like a real movie than just a porno). The lighting was well handled and this added to the pleasure of watching the gals in play during their scenes. The composition of the camera angles and lighting were almost always optimal this time, Skow seeing fit to try and enhance the look of the ladies at every turn as possible. The fleshtones were accurate this time and the DVD mastering was well done (if in a bitrate hovering around the mid 3 to lower 4 Mbps area), making it a mixed bag in terms of visual quality; leaning towards above average thematically but not covering all the basics as well as expected (I even saw some aliasing on Savanna's stockings for example). The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 192 Kbps) offering with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent. For some reason, the levels were about the same as usual but aside from the added background music, the dynamic range was average and the separation of the vocal track nonexistent. In terms of the music, it was sometimes surreal but added another layer to the production, I believe Miles Long being credited at the end of the movie for it.

Body of Review: B. Skow might be the most talented director at Vivid Entertainment these days but he is generally handed the gonzo projects more than features. When he does get a feature though, he shows some care into the numerous elements that comprise a movie, the latest case of this being in 59 Seconds. The premise of the movie concerns a gal played by Savanna Samson that nearly dies in an accident, finding herself trapped in a place where she can explore all her sexual fantasies while the powers that be determine whether or not she will survive. The hint of plotted points was not lost on me but the fans out there will mostly appreciate how often the contract hotty got to strut her stuff with various partners. The addition of Lanny Barby and other top notch performers added to the appeal of the movie for me as well. The back cover said it like this: "Kim (Savanna Samson) teeters on the brink of life and death after suffering a near-fatal accident. As surgeons struggle to bring her back to the world of the living, Kim's mind hovers in a limbo designed to entertain her deepest, darkest fantasies, known as the "Cerebral Net." With a little help from her guide Gabriel, Kim navigates the "C. N.," enacting all the pleasures of life never-realized. Including a sexual ravaging at the hands of four desperate men. 59 Seconds...less than a minute...but more than you could ever imagine." If that sounds good to you, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Interrelated Desires: Lexi Love, one of the most popular ladies at the recent AEE due to her fan friendliness, was up first in a scene that amounted to a fetish with solo act. Scene Three: Trippy: Lanny Barby, the busty brunette bombshell contract gal at Vivid, her stripper pal Kimberly Franklin, and Sascha, were up next in the hospital as Savanna watched them from a safe distance. There was also a fair amount of lesbian action included here but the ladies did not neglect their duties to service Sascha as the oral included some fine knob slobbing action. In short, fans of Savanna Samson will definitely need to pick up a copy of 59 Seconds for their collection but fans of features should find plenty to enjoy here as well.
