Extras: The best extra was a series of four "Masturbations" that amounted to tease sequences in standard definition, ranging from 2:56 minutes long for Krystal, to 3:35 minutes for Riley, and 6:25 minutes for Taylor (Maya's not having a time code but not overly lengthy). The next best extra was a short Behind the Scenes feature in standard definition, replacing most of the vocals with an upbeat tempo music mix as the ladies were shown in various states of undress and having sex, particularly Krystal Steal. There was no time code here so I can't tell you exactly how long it was without wasting time clocking it (not going to happen!) but it really didn't add a lot of value, any more than the slide show or trailers.

Audio/Video Quality: Pinup Perversions with Krystal Steal (Blu-Ray) was presented in a crisp widescreen color with an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 as shot by director Laurent Sky for Club Jenna in the VC-1 codec using 1080i resolution for a decent looking high definition picture. The colors looked very accurate, the lighting was a mixture of various techniques, the level of grain typically minimal (nonexistent), and the composition of the shots pretty decent in terms of making the performers look better than usual most of the time. There were no compression artifacts, no video noise, and I liked the more straightforward approach to the scenes that the director went with here; proving that the company and/or director are listening to the constructive criticism many have provided over the years. The video bitrate hovered in the upper teens and lower twenties a lot and there were some artistic effects used but they were used sparingly to enhance the appeal of the movie, not overwhelm the viewer as with the director's past works. The only choice for audio was the basic 2.0 Linear PCM English audio track, this time using vocals mixed in with the loud music to enhance the heat and energy for me. The music was all related to the themes at hand, giving the nod to Americana band tunes that were fairly well done in many ways; no backhanded compliment intended. This was so preferable to the thumping beats so often used by the company that I found my toe tapping when it should be rather than searching for the remote control to turn it down. There wasn't a lot of separation between the channels and the dynamic range lacked a bit on the vocals but the music helped to elevate the quality of the production a bit and the gals could be easily heard once the sex began in earnest.

Body of Review: Laurent Sky is a stylish director of porn that likes to provide a fusion of artistic effects, a wall of sound, and fast paced editing that targets a narrow niche of the market rather than cater to a larger audience. In these economic times, that is a rather bold move so one must applaud his desire to do what works for him over what sells best or chases his competitors, though some rough edges always remain for me to fuss about. His latest work is the high definition outing of Pinup Perversions with Krystal Steal (Blu-Ray) where former contract gal Krystal Steal gets the same retro look as the initial volume in the series (Pinup Perversions with Lela Star) I enjoyed so much. The idea is similar in that the ladies were all given looks of a bygone era where class reigned supreme as seen in a decidedly romantic manner, an entertainment theme the approach used here.  For a quick look at the movie in SD, here is a link to the official TRAILER for you to get an idea of what to expect, some of the footage remarkably crisp and clear.  The back cover said it like this: "Club Jenna brings you a new collection of ageless beauties. In this episode, Krystal Steal will take you on a classic ride in her time machine to a place where naughty play is kept behind closed doors. The daring darling Krystal Steal and her playmates Maya Gates, Riley Evans and Taylor Chanel will captivate you. These girls are ready to make you shake, rattle and roll!" Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Krystal Steal, the blond implant queen featured on the front cover, was up first as a model appreciative of the efforts Eric Masterson who rewarded him using her physical assets. The implication that she was portraying a Marilyn Monroe type of gal he helped breakthrough to larger success was clear, the pair making up in a montage that included a lot of black & white footage. The lack of rhythm the couple showed as they stripped, kissed, and gave each other pleasure actually helped make it seem more believable, Krystal's active blowjob and moderately active vaginal ride striking me as pretty solid work. The music was not truly in tune with the theme of the flick but it was cute enough that I couldn't get it out of my head, the ending facial coating her mouth before she wrapped her lips around his hard shaft to give some post coital head.

Scene Two: Krystal Steal, this time playing a gal at the beauty salon, was up next too as she was hanging out in her black lingerie while effeminate Tony DeSergio played with nail polish. The pair flirted wordlessly and ended up caressing each other, Krystal back to giving a great hummer before they boned vaginally. This ride was better than her last one and while I questioned placing her two scenes back to back like this, it did help demonstrate the contrast between them fairly well. She looked great bent over with her fleshy ass in the air, the fishnet stockings enhancing her legs before the oral wad of genetic juice went to her mouth.

Scene Three: Riley Evans, a curvy blond with a lot of class (or is that a lot of ass?!?) was up next in a pharmacy with Mick Blue. Riley would bend over to get something and Mick would be seen ogling her, eventually using his mouth to cover her with little kisses. The fisheye look of the scene was not the best way to go, nor was the apparent lack of vocals with the music taking center stage but as a scene with a hotty, there was some limited appeal. His oral efforts led to her seductively blowing him to a faster tempo, the couple pounding vaginally to release his seed in her mouth after she bounced in his lap as well as took him inside her biscuit doggy style. The minimal vocals towards the end helped but it did not help give the movie a high rating despite my appreciation for her looks and talents.

Scene Four: Maya Gates, a curvy dame that looks Hispanic but is actually from Eastern Europe, was up next as a singer on stage that crooned to the piano work of studly Marco Banderas. The pair enjoyed some minor applause (though she did not actually sing) and they made up on the stage under the bright lights. This scene seemed to be overly saturated with color and in great need of adjustment, the fleshtones way off from what I could see as she slobbed his knob and took a pounding vaginal bout of boning. She was the most consistently active vaginal rider of the movie though so it all balanced out by the time she took her facial.

Scene Five: Taylor Chanel, another busty blond in a low-cut dress with lots of sparkles on it, smoked her cancer stick as she made out with Jerry in a restaurant booth to the sounds of a crooner in the background. I found her strong legs and firm ass to be quite appealing and while Jerry started off the oral on her, she was certainly no stranger to wrapping her lips around a cock and sucking it actively. Her vaginal ride was a lot less consistent though, starting off aggressively but soon moving to the point where she was a net receiver instead of giver of pleasure, the scene finishing up with his modest wad of population pudding gracing her mouth.

Summary: Pinup Perversions with Krystal Steal (Blu-Ray) by director Laurent Sky for Club Jenna had some stylish elements beckoning back to a time and place that many consider to be a bygone era of class and for that, it merited a rating of Rent It all by itself but the sex in the show, like the extras, was such that I wanted more, a lot more, and it simply did not give me the kind of thrills that I'd be willing to pay top dollar for a high definition outing for. If you like your sex offered up with large amounts of style over truly hardcore sex acts and don't care for sexual athleticism, you might find this one better than I did though so check it out if you aren't a dyed in the wool raincoater. In short, Pinup Perversions with Krystal Steal (Blu-Ray) will be the kind of porno that couples new to porn might appreciate more than a jaded old porn hound like myself ever could, such being the case with most of Laurent's works of the past too, so let your genitalia be your guide this time as my suggestion is heavily tempered by my personal taste.
