Commentary

I really enjoyed My Plaything: Krystal Steal. Maybe it's because I have adored Krystal since the first time I saw her in a still photo shoot with her buddy Sky Lopez. However, I think there's more to it than that. Krystal really knows how to fuck virtually. I think there's only two other girls who have done as good a job: Jesse Jane (in Virtual Sex with Jesse Jane and Jewel de Nyle (in My Plaything: Jewel de Nyle).

Over the years, I've given a lot of thought as to how to evaluate virtual sex DVDs from a sex perspective. I've come to the conclusion that there are really three variables that determine, at least to me, whether I'll enjoy a virtual sex experience: 1) the beauty of the girl and whether or not I'd like to be with her; 2) the girl's performance and whether it is believable or not; and 3) the believability of the male cumshots.

With regards to Krystal's appearance, I think she's volcanic. The major issue with virtual sex disks is always the male cumshots. Simply put, a guy CANNOT fake it. This movie uses patently phony digital cum that "shoots" out of the guy's cock but doesn't land anywhere. At first glance, the cumshots look somewhat real. The trajectories are realistic as are the apparent volumes of semen being ejected from the guy's cock. However, semen must land somewhere! I only saw a puddle of cum once: in the "Nice" blowjob. So, I must conclude that all the rest of the cumshots are fake. I must say this: someone must have spent a LOT of time studying cumshots to make such believable ejaculations through digital animation! Sadly, there's usually nothing for Krystal to play with or let dribble down her flesh. You may disagree with me. However, I truly believe that the best solution to this dilemma, at least so far, as been the internal popshots in Virtual Sex with Jesse Jane. Internal popshots can be realistically faked by injecting a white liquid, like coconut cream, into the woman's vagina and then letting it dribble out. Even if we concede that these internal popshots are fake, they still look realistic enough for the viewer to suspend reality. Three stars!

DVD Perspectives

Video (technical): Most everything is perfect! There are two camera angles available throughout the experience. The video is 16 X 9 widescreen with navigation buttons positioned above and below the picture. The camera angles are perfect and so are the lighting and editing. Even the two cameras are color balanced the same! That's noteworthy. Five stars!

Audio (technical): The audio, whether it be Krystal's moans and groans, her dialog (naughty or nice), or the sounds of her toys, is flawless. There's no music during the scenes (except during Krystal's strip sequence) to interfere with the sounds of sex. Five stars!

Aesthetics: Some virtual sex experiences have been filmed with stark-black backgrounds to highlight only the performer. Others have been filmed with green backgrounds that are replaced during postproduction with dubbed-in (and obviously fake) backgrounds. Sometimes, the girl is simply naked throughout.
