Extras: There were trailers and a photogallery but the main extras included a 1:58 minute Behind the Scenes short that showed the gals laughing (and how playful they were when not "in character"). There was also a 7:35 minute long interview with director Julie Simone that gave great insight into what works for her (and what she includes in her movies). Partner Krissy also was given 2:10 minutes of camera time to talk about what she likes in her porn, loving the way Julie pushes her limits and the kinky play included in the movie.

Audio/Video Quality: Sessions 14 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Julie Simone for release by Gwen Media. Julie handled lighting and produced it with some minimal help by cameraman Mike Mayonnaise, her bondage sensibilities permeated the entire production as a result. The darker dungeon scenes had more grain than I really care for but the movie looked substantially more realistic than the fake "glamour BDSM" you see in more mainstream efforts (that aficionados fuss about all the time). She apparently took the time to do things right, not scripting much of the action but letting it play out in real time to elevate the levels of tension going on; giving it a boost in terms of appeal even to me, a lightweight when it comes to the lifestyle. The bitrate occasionally hovered around the mid 5 Mbps mark and I detected no aliasing, video noise, or other major flaws that could impact the strengths of the visuals here; though the low budget did show up on the screen from time to time and the bitrate was typically much lower than it could have been. I'd prefer more lighting but I'm familiar with the lame looking titles competitors release so this at least looked better than those. The audio was presented in a 2.0 English LPCM offering of 1536 Kbps rather than the more generally used Dolby Digital, the sampling rate of 48 kHz standard throughout the production. The audio lacked much separation and dynamic range though the music by Jillian Ann did show some promise as it caught the mood here fairly well.

Body of Review: Julie Simone is one of the strongest personalities in porn these days, preferring to stick in the shadows of the fetish world that so turns her on rather than the glossy fantasy world the majority of the industry tries to project. Not satisfied with the fake "oohs and ahhs" of the plastic porn world, Julie pushes the limits of her submissives in such a way that you can feel the raw energy more often than not, even if you aren't a devotee to the BDSM lifestyle like so many have become in recent years. The exchange of power and all that entails is something that could fill volumes of books but a quick study would be well served by watching Julie's latest project for Gwen Media in the form of Sessions 14. The entire movie was actually one prolonged scene where Julie uses Krissy as a slave, employing smoke, foot fetish, flogging, hot wax, and a variety of other practices that might make the hour long movie fly right by or last a lifetime depending on which side of the smothering you happen to be on. The cover said it like this: "Mistress Julie Simone loves to smoke and she doesn't care that her submissive, Krissy, can't handle smoke very well, especially with an ashtray gag in her mouth. In this 14th edition of the Sessions Series, Julie further punishes the sexy brunette by smothering her with her breasts and ass, tickling, paddling and caning her sensitive feet and foot fucking her in two positions, dousing her with hot wax, then flogging the was away. As if that wasn't enough, Mistress Julie spanks, crops and canes Krissy's bare ass then forces her to masturbate with a magic wand. When play time is over, Krissy cleans the dungeon while the Mistress, once again, enjoys her cigarette. Includes smoking, foot paddling, caning and tickling, foot fucking, hot wax and forced masturbation, smothering and other forms of breath play." The movie was pretty much a single BDSM session with Julie in charge and Krissy subordinate to her will. Both wore tight fetish garb (see my pictures) with Krissy initially wearing an ash tray mask with her feet and hands bound behind her. Julie also blew smoke her way, taunting her verbally before smothering the gal with her ample breasts; teaching her "her place" as the scene progressed. The smothering theme continued with Julie cupping her hands on the gal's mouth and sitting on her face to use her latex pants that way, eventually getting bored and moving on to torture Krissy's feet. Julie beat Krissy's feet with a variety of paddles and then moved to ticking (only a relative little as Julie isn't into this kink per her comments in the extras); Krissy's restraints allowed in front of her before long. Julie then demonstrated how much a condom will stretch by putting one over her foot, shoving it in Krissy's snatch in a few positions, and then flogging her in doggy style. The setting switched to one where hot wax was poured on the slave and more extensive flogging took place, moving to Krissy's ass taking a beating before some forced masturbation with a large vibrator finished things up. The action was just as described on the cover and my only point of contention was that the cover said the movie had no script but Julie was credited as the writer.

Summary: Sessions 14 by director Julie Simone for Gwen Media was admittedly a niche release that will not appeal to many of you but if you are into the lifestyle, it should be at least rated as Recommended. Julie filled her role well, showing her regal air of superiority nicely while there was no mainstream attempt to show Krissy topping from the bottom as is far too common these days. The technical values were a few steps up from some of Julie's other works and while I wanted a lot more footage, I cannot deny the stroke factor this one had within the confines of the BDSM niche it served. In short, Sessions 14 had some rough edges but they were edges that enthusiasts will find appealing for all those nasty reasons you pick up porn so find a copy at one of the better retailers near you or pick it up online from a company that serves the community more than vanilla interests.
