Extras: The first disc had a pop shot recap and some spam but thankfully, there was a second disc with much better extras. The extras disc started out with a 20:14 minute long Casting Call (James Bartholet really getting into his reading, others not so much), leading into a non-sex version lasting all of 13:15 minutes (like I said, don’t expect much story), a photogallery, some trailers, the usual Vivid extras and spam included here too. It would have been nice to see extended sex scenes or even an extended storyline that made sense (my thinking being that someone may have thought story elements got in the way of the sex here so they cut it back drastically) or BTS footage but it wasn’t meant to be.

Audio/Video Quality: Captain America XXX was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by credited director Axel Braun for Vivid. As expected, the director of photography was Eli Cross (videography, co-writer too), the reputed “brains behind the braun” on most of his better parodies, art direction was provided courtesy of Kylie Ireland and Andy Appleton, sound tech by Frank Armitage, and costume design by Ms. September, the usual editing by Axel, his wife, and Claudia Ross, and special effects by Level 5 Post. While this was largely the same group of people associated with making other titles in the series, the overall look of the production was pretty good here, almost to the level of his earlier works. There were some issues with the picture being washed out with too much lighting at first but as the movie progressed, they went away, some of the location shots helping make the movie work better for me. The special effects were a bit limited this time and there was still a company watermark on the lower right hand corner of the screen at all times for those keeping track. The aural qualities of the show were good in general, the 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo offering providing easily heard vocals and a score that worked well with the visual elements, I half expected to see colorfully animated pop up words during the fight sequence (ala the Adam West Batman series from the 60’s) given the campy nature of the acting.

Body of Review: Axel Braun is a man credited with directing scores of parodies, his personal participation varying substantially in each but the man leaving his mark more often than not. Before he left for a BBD, his studio shot a number of comic book super hero parodies for Vivid, the latest one coming out very soon (X-Men) as I sat down to review one from earlier this year called Captain America XXX: An Axel Braun Parody. XCritic’s own Sex Reed reviewed the web version months ago, the physical discs finally coming in for a more comprehensive look this week. While the Hollywood versions of these movies are raking in billions of dollars collectively, the second in the series for Captain America was no less than a smash hit at the box office itself, the iconic character well known to comic book readers and cartoon loving fans for generations.

Those familiar with the porn versions of these flicks know that they tend to be really, really light on story and heavy on the performers having sex in costume. That means that Axel’s crew throws everything but the kitchen sink in to include as many comic characters as possible, the biggest selling point being how accurate the costumes are compared to the movie versions though my own experience with comics long ago reminds me that costumes change all the time, a trend amplified and accelerated when publishers noticed it led to as many extra sales as a good cross over appearance. So going into the movie, I was realistic not to expect much in the way of story, satisfied that I would see sexy Phoenix Marie, Kleio Valentien, Britney Amber, Claire Robbins, and Jessica Ryan going at it with various men, no room for origins or character development allowed. The back cover described the movie like this: “Legendary directory Axel Braun and adult powerhouse Vivid Entertainment have brought plenty of joy to comic book fans with their best-selling superhero parodies, and now they're tackling the quintessential American hero: Captain America! Watch Cap fight for the Cosmic Cube against Baron Zemo, Sin, Crossbones, and Batroc, with the help of Sharon Carter, Diamondback, Falcon and Quicksilver, in an epic sexy spoof that once again has better costumes, more geek cred, and bigger boobs than the original!” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Britney “USO Girl” Amber, a curvy blond bombshell with a nice ass, was up first in a tent with Aaron “Captain America” Wilcox as part of the opening sequence> There was no rhyme or reason for the encounter, just a costumed crusader getting some from a willing honey as he peeled her attire off to leave his own intact. He sucked her tits and gobbled her hairless gash, tonguing her flower greedily as she moaned in appreciation with her legs spread wide. This led to some aggressive knob slobbing fun on her part as she knelt before him, the brief display of oral love followed up with some active vaginal riding. Her boobs bounced nicely as she impaled herself on his modest member and she diddled herself to get off while riding, her ass looking best in the doggy that led to him plastering her face with semen.

Scene Two: Claire “Sin” Robbins, the red head wearing the red corset seen on the lower left corner of the front cover, was up next as a tortured soul seeking revenge, the gal pouring on the charm to muscular Derrick “Crossbones” Pierce in a secret criminal lair before dropping to blow him. Claire throated him with relative ease, his slickened stick drilling her hairy pussy in several positions while both remained in their costumes. She was an active rider though the darkened location did not lend itself to showcasing her delicious ass very well, Derrick dousing her with sperm in a facial she seemed fine with.

Scene Three: Phoenix “Sharon Carter” Marie, the very busty blond seen featured on the upper left corner of the front cover, was up next with Giovanni “Batroc” Francesco, the gal enjoying a little physical relief having made a deal for a particularly powerful object. She blew him and vaginally rode him in a handful of positions that revealed her curvy body I appreciate so much, the scene sticking to the heavily formulaic approach most of Eli, I mean Axel’s works in the parody field include. Thankfully, Phoenix was a tour de force as always, both partners remaining in costume as she aggressively worked him over, Gio sucking her ass to help excite her a bit as the dirty talk babe encouraged of him. There was more oral by both of them between the vaginal positions, her bald beaver readily handling anything he had to deliver her way, his wealth of seed landing on her ass in contrast to the other scenes where the ladies took facials.

Scene Four: Kleio “Diamondback” Valentien, the exotic looking hotty in the pink outfit and matching hair seen on the middle of the right side of the cover, was up next with a newly freed Tyler “Falcon” Knight and an observant Bill “Quicksilver” Bailey. The trio was under a cosmic influence and the guys were all over her, her nipples poking through the fabric of her costume just as their turgid rods were outlined heavily in theirs. She took turns blowing them as though she couldn’t get enough, Bill rimming her tasty ass before she started allowing them to take turns boning her pussy like they owned it, her mouth keeping suitably busy on whichever cock wasn’t porking her at any given time. The scene ended when the men nutted on her face, a small plot twist that went nowhere following it.

Scene Five: Jessica “Hellcat” Ryan, the lean little lady in blue and yellow costume seen on the lower right corner of the cover, was then up with one of the Captain’s most notorious enemies, Ryan “Baron Zemo” Driller. As she was under his power, she serviced him capably well using the established formula of oral and vaginal, the gal playfully blowing him while providing the kind of eye contact many in the show did not have. The streamers flew and she largely used a no-hands approach, Ryan banging her hairy twat in what was one of the most passive rides of the series. Still, her cute ass looked good in the tight outfit as he hammered away at her pussy and while it seemed a bit clumsy for the most part, it ended with the expected facial.

Summary: Captain America XXX by director Axel Braun for Vivid did not parody either Hollywood version of the titular character in favor of a very loosely connected set of sex scenes where the performers could fuck in costume. For those looking just to jerk off, that reduced the amount of FFF (“fast forward fodder”) to skip through though for the comic geeks out there, it meant blowing off any context to see if the creative minds could come up with a coherent plot too. I liked the sex better than that of recently reviewed Spider-Man XXX 2 and enjoyed the campy acting antics of the cast enough to rate it as Recommended but this was another one best appreciated while significantly buzzed. Technically though, the costumes looked pretty good in most cases (except the USO outfit, perhaps the easiest to replicate off the shelf too), the technical values got better as the movie progressed, and the cast of ladies such as Kleio Valentien, Phoenix Marie, Claire Robbins, Jessica Ryan, and Britney Amber held up to that of a previously released parody of the character from years back, your mileage varying with your tastes. In short, Captain America XXX: An Axel Braun Parody was light on story but did a fair job with the sexual trysts so check it out while you wait for the upcoming X-Men XXX parody everyone is talking about if you are into the genre.
