Extras: The first disc only had a commercial for Vivid’s web-cam line and related spam. The second disc had a non-sex version of the movie lasting 16:47 minutes, some BTS footage lasting 5:08 minutes, trailers, a photogallery, and the usual Vivid extras including their special offer.

Audio/Video Quality: Thor XXX was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Axel Braun for Vivid (their comic book line). With Axel sharing writing credit with “Mark Logan”, helping edit it with his wife and Claudia Ross, and being credited for shooting it with “Eli Cross”, the director wore many hats this time. Kylie Ireland and Andy Appleton took care of art direction, the sum total of the technical crew being it was all well handled but a decidedly smaller budget project than some of the bigger works of late. There was a company watermark on the lower right corner as well. The aural components were credited to Seth Cardigan, the music was appropriate, the vocals easily heard thanks to grip work by Sly and Sleepy, and even the relative lack of ambient noises did not hurt the general quality of the sound, the special effects by Level 5 Post showing some fun too.

Body of Review: Axel Braun is a director known almost exclusively for his porn parodies, his best works at Vivid garnering a massive amount of awards and accolades though his planned move to another company is forthcoming. His latest parody worth talking about is called Thor XXX: An Axel Braun Parody, the movie showing the mythic Marvel Comics hero in a whole new way, this parody a second on the character as a showpiece with the other handled by a different company. The story this time involved Loki (Tommy Pistol) using his magic to seduce Thor’s (Brendon Miller) GF Sif (Kimberly Kane) and then tricking the God of Thunder into throwing his mighty hammer to Earth. Loki then bands with The Enchantress (Nicole Aniston) and The Executioner (Dick Delaware) to defeat Thor, circumstances and a surprise cameo assisting the lead at the very end. Unlike some of Axel’s better superhero parodies, this one was just about on par with the release by Exquisite Pictures last year, the sets minimal, the budget looking ultra low, and the resulting movie certainly not among one he’d be wisely pushing for any earned awards. Having seen the mainstream movies, including blockbuster Thor 2 when it opened last week, I was hoping for something more, even the sex coming across as fairly bland. The back cover described the movie like this: “The might Thor, played by award-winning actor Brendon Miller, battles the Frost Giants and suffers minor wounds...only to be betrayed by his own half-brother Loki, who tricks him into hurling his hammer Mjolnir to Midgard after assuming Thor's identity to seduce Sif. What follows is a trip to Earth, a fever dream hospital stay, an encounter with The Temptress and The Executioner, and a series of epic battles and ever more epic sex that only the legendary Axel Braun could conceive!” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Kimberly “Sif” Kane, a popular performer for years now, was up first with Tommy “Loki” Pistol, the man using his magic to make her think he was Thor. While the “sex by deception=rape” crowd will no doubt find this pairing upsetting, Kimberly is always on the money when it comes to sex and Tommy kept up with her well enough to suit her needs of the moment. She sported one of the hairiest pubic bushes in recent memory (for a feature anyway) but Tommy gobbled her gash and ass like it was the cleanest thing he’d seen in a long time. She inhaled his pecker orally while applying some ginger touches to his balls too, the resulting active riding in both her pussy and ass were enough to merit a nod as the best tryst of the movie. I liked that she remained in costume, to a degree at least, and her juicy ass looked extra tasty when bent over taking his rod deep inside, but his limited wad of genetic juice deposited onto her ass crack seemed lame, the scene fading out before she could taste the baby batter.

Scene Two: Julia “Frija” Ann, wearing a white gown and some jewelry, was up next as she knelt before Mark “Odin” Davis, both of them looking more like they belonged in a low end barbarian movie on late night cable than an Axel Braun parody. Granted, given the circumstances he would have been in a decidedly different situation in a hospital but cheap porn discards that kind of thing in favor of expediency so she was all over him as his turgid erection began to pop a tent in the sheets. Scene Five: Nicole “The Enchantress” Aniston, dressed out in the traditional comic book version of the requisite outfit, was up last as she kissed Dick “The Executioner” Delaware, his own costume close enough for porn. Summary: Thor XXX by director Axel Braun for Vivid was so similar to the previous parody on the character that I wondered if it had been made by the same people, the only performer in both being hotty Nicole Aniston in a decidedly different role. I will say that Brendon Miller made for a better Thor and there were a thousand better scenarios that could have been used for the diminished storyline here but it merited a rating of Rent It; it was so equal with the previous attempt (they probably both deserve a rating of “Rent It” but I try not to rewrite history and these were made around the same time if I recall correctly) but that came out first. Kimberly Kane gave up the ass and Julia Ann is always welcome in titles I review, Tommy Pistol playing his Loki role in such an over the top manner that you’d think he was making fun of the director. In short, Thor XXX: An Axel Braun Parody was an interesting take on the subject matter that fell short but it left me wanting more sexually and from the cosplay included, my belief being that Axel should not have tried making another original version of the characters.
