Overall Thoughts:

So I will try and not talk too much about the story, just in case you haven’t seen the original movie, but I will try and compare and contrast a little, while commenting on the sex, the main reason you are checking out this movie. I just recently re-watched the original so that everything was fresh in my mind. It’s been awhile since I have watched it, still good after all these years.

So I have to say that this was a great parody, they stayed very true to the original and found a great way to incorporate the sex into the movie, without really taking too many liberties. They used the same dialogue and did great finding some similar locations to shoot in too. Now I don’t think I have reviewed any other movie parodies, just TV shows, and I have to say that I can only hope they all do as good as job as this one. Great job everyone that was involved in this one. All of the girls did a decent job of playing their male counterparts, with a shout out to Andy, Kimberly and Chanel for their great performances.

And to top that all off, you get a second disc, which has about 4 hours of footage from the filming of the movie, which is way beyond the normal, but there are times where the audio isn’t the greatest at some parts, but I am willing to look that over a bit when there is 4 hours of footage to go through. I have to say that even though the audio wasn’t 5.1 and the video had a somewhat indy looking feel to it, I don’t want that to affect the overall score too much. I’m sure even QT himself would be ok with that. And you factor in the sex, which there was only one scene that I didn’t enjoy, the fact that seeing Andy and Chanel in other scenes made up for it. You know what they say, to each their own, and maybe you will enjoy or not enjoy the scenes I did. Plus the special features, for a 2 hour movie you get 4 hours of footage to go with it, I am willing to give the score a little bump.

But overall I really think this movie deserves some high praise for what it brings to the table, this is a movie any fan of Reservoir Dogs would enjoy watching, and I look forward to seeing this on my shelf, sitting right next to the original. So this movie overall deserves our highest rating, XCRITIC PICK. After seeing this parody, I am looking forward to seeing how others stack up to this one.
