Audio/Video Quality: Pink Velvet was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Kimberly Kane for Vivid. The scenes gave the appearance that a single camera was used and it was done so in a shaky fashion all too often, the resulting footage limited just how much polishing it could get by Jack Freedom as the editor. There was a company watermark on the lower right hand corner and while the flesh tones were accurate much of the time, the resolution varied a great deal, the opening tease sequences replete with the use of a fisheye lens and garish music without vocals, Seth Cardigan credited with sound here. This was not the highly polished type of work I have long associated with the company, either by default or design, but it did seem to convey some of the passion and energy the couples often showed in their scenes.

Body of Review: Kimberly Kane is one of those ladies who routinely reinvents herself in porn, her work in front of the camera often among the best you will find and her directing efforts often showing a willingness to try new approaches and shoot footage differently with her works at Vivid. Her latest release from them is called Pink Velvet, a set of five lesbian sex scenes relying more on the ladies being into each other than a specific gimmick or genre focus, a lot of desirable ladies populating the scenes. The back cover described the movie like this: “Kim Kane puts a whole new spin on girl/girl sex in this hip, young, sexy, fresh all vignette pussy-fest. The prettiest girls, the coolest fashions and the nastiest sex make this a must for the lesbian watcher. It's not just all-girl...it's all-new. Pink Velvet. Hot meets haute, as only Kim Kane can do.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Kristina Rose, a former booty queen with dark hair, and blonde cutie Charlotte Stokely, a pal skinned gal that I haven’t seen in ages, were up first in front of a large window making out, particular attention paid to their asses though ample nipple play and gash gobbling occurred too. Kristina’s ass was as delicious looking as ever, the fleshy orbs shaking vigorously by Charlotte as the two kept kissing. The camera work was bouncy at times, the one wielding the camera trying to get too close and see everything going on rather than stand back a bit and focus on the context of the action as well. Kristina devoured bald beaver with her ass in the air, Charlotte reciprocating by rimming Kristina at length before she got her turn, the fun factor of the tryst tied to the chemistry of the couple. Scene Two: Ashley Fires, the blond spitfire feature on the upper left corner of the cover, and director Kimberly Kane, her brunette counterpart on the cover, were then up next in a scene shot using a fisheye lens as fluids were poured on them to some upbeat music with no vocals in the bathroom. The ladies wore stretch pants and those were soaked by the time the music stopped, Ashley diving into Kim’s ass as the gal sat on the toilet before Kim chose her snatch and feet to savor orally. They also had some fine enthusiasm going for them as they orally pleased each other, some fingering included as the camera continued to bounce around trying to capture as much as possible.

Scene Three: Lola Foxx, a stunning brunette babe, and blond gymnast Lea Lexis, were up next showing off just how flexible they were on the cabinetry in front of the window while wearing skimpy attire. They were both clean shaven down there and ate each other out, some fingering and feeding of the juices adding to the erotic appeal of the encounter. They paid attention to ass and feet alike, Lola fucking Lea’s ass with her big toe at one point. I liked the eye contact and the playfulness displayed by both of them, the personal chemistry less obvious than in the previous scenes but still present all the same.

Scene Four: Chastity Lynn, the cute blonde on the bottom center of the front cover, and her brunette sidekick Raven Rockette, were up next. Chastity sported a heap of hair on her crotch and the ladies bounced around in front of a sliding glass door, Raven’s snatch considerable too. The basic formula used in the other scenes was continued, the ladies pawing each other before going down and tasting all kinds of body parts although they did have more hair to contend with than the rest of their associates. They ate ass more than pussy and looked at the camera too much as if for further instructions, the fingering standing out this time as the dominant act.

Scene Five: Veruca James and Dana DeArmond, portraying the kitten and cougar seen respectfully on the lower left corner of the front cover, were then up last as Dana used her strap on dildo to pleasure Veruca as a slave. The fisheye tease with music was stylish but again not my favorite approach, Veruca munching out Dana between active vaginal riding positions. Summary: Pink Velvet by director Kimberly Kane for Vivid was very hit or miss for me though the resulting chemistry and enthusiasm from the cast was always present in sufficient quantities to merit a rating of Recommended if you enjoy lesbian encounters. Rather than use bad acting and a lame script, Kimberly seemed to encourage her casts to just go for it and have fun, the resulting fun factor aspects of the five scenes adding replay value and strokability. In short, Pink Velvet was an interesting set of scenes starring ladies such as Kristina Rose, Lola Foxx, Chastity Lynn, and others described above, the lack of scripting working more often than not to enhance the final product so check it out.
