When I look at Parodies and how they stand overall, I look at two separate segments of the dvd. Of course, the sex and its strength is important, put when it says “Parody”, the the story and script in my opinion needs to deliver as equal in strength as the sex segments. In “Official Californication Parody”, the sex scenes greatly out weighed the non sex segments and the script of the parody. The segments before and after the sex, were very weak in script content, entertainment and offered nothing more than what a non-parody adult dvd would provide. The acting in the parody was very good, but the actresses and actors were not given enough meat in script and roles to play out from the producer and director. Because, “Official Californication Parody”, has been brought to us as a parody, then that is what I look at if I were to buy it. The dvd with the exception of several very strong sex scenes, in my opinion does not give the consumer, what they are going to expect in a adult parody. “Official Californication Parody” does not come close in a parody compared to the many others that are out there. Unfortunately the weakness outweighs the strengths, so I would only suggest to “Rent It”, for a one time watch to enjoy the sex and then go buy one of the other great and strong parodies that are on the market.
