Audio/Video Quality: Man Of Steel XXX: An Axel Braun Parody was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Axel Braun for Vivid (their comic book line). With Axel sharing writing credit with “Mark Logan”, helping edit it with his wife and Claudia Ross, and being credited for shooting it with “Eli Cross”. Kylie Ireland and Andy Appleton took credit for art direction, the folks at Level 5 Post getting credit again for the special effects. There was a company watermark on the lower right corner as well. The aural components were credited to Axel and Brenda Blossom for the musical soundtrack, Seth Cardigan listed as the sound technician, the production sounding about as good as it looked. The overall quality of the feature elements was decent enough, both visually and aurally, the sex scenes a mixed bag in that regard for me at least.

Body of Review: Axel Braun is a porn director best known at Vivid for his superhero works. His latest parody of note is called Man Of Steel XXX: An Axel Braun Parody, the movie showing Ryan Driller reprising his role of superman in a darker version of the hero, the mainstream project raking in huge sums of cash earlier this year. Of interest is that this is not merely a pornified, carbon copy of the mainstream version but an all new re-envisioning of the character that some of you might care for more than the Hollywood version. With ladies like Kirsten Price, Skin Diamond, Kendall Karson, and others on hand, the sexual exploits again took center stage in a cosplay effort the fanboys should really appreciate, villains like Bizarro, Lex Luthor, and Silver Banshee providing the man of steel with ample opportunities to spark some interest. The back cover described the movie like this: “Say goodbye to the dorky, fumbling Clark Kent of the '70s... Ryan Driller reprises the role that launched his career, but in his latest epic spoof, legendary director Axel Braun gives us an updated version of the classic all-American superhero. After a freak accident in which he kills Livewire, Clark leaves Lois, burns his costume and goes back to Smallville to rekindle his romance with Lana Lang. But President Luthor has other plans... and they involve Silver Banshee and Bizarro. It's a darker, moodier, bolder look at an iconic character, with more action, more drama, and definitely more sex than any of its mainstream incarnations, and of course with the exceptional quality and attention to detail that fans of Axel Braun have come to expect of him.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Sasha Knox and Barry Scott were up first as Livewire & Miguel, the gal unhappy with losing her job as much as the radio station’s format change. She threatened him with her electrical abilities involving his wife (played by Liv Aguilera), the dude forced to go down on her heavily shaven snatch before she aggressively blew him. Her blowjob and hand to gland friction were the best oral of the movie but the vaginal and limited anal penetration positions were short, Sasha being on top in costume showing her most active angle. In her favor, she used a lot of dirty talk, his crotch pop of genetic juice on the modest side before the feature elements kicked in.

Scene Two: Skin Diamond and Alan Stafford were up next as Silver Banshee & Angle Man, Skin slobbing his knob briefly until he launched his nut of population pudding into her mouth and the story resumed. Skin gave an active hummer but that was all the scene provided, not even some eye candy footage of her sleek frame to appreciate.

Scene Three: Kendall Karson and Ryan Driller were then up as Zatanna & Superman in an astral representation of themselves. I thought Kendall was a hotty but far from the best rendition of the character in recent years (Chanel Preston and Kristina Rose both earning a nod for their respective portrayals), even her costume looking on the generic side. She knelt down to blow him while he was in his newer, darker costume, and he reciprocated by gobbling her gash, a couple positions of active cowgirl variations making up the bulk of the vaginal penetration portion of the scene. She had a bald beaver for those that care, her puffy labia swelling as they milked his spunk for the oral ending as she took the ball batter into her mouth.

Scene Four: Kirsten Price and Samantha Ryan were up next playing Lois Lane & Lana Lang respectively, the ladies ending up on the bed together in a groaner of a situation, at least the lesbian basics covered better than the heterosexual angles were covered in the previous trysts. They initially shared some kisses, leaning back to caress each other as they discarded their attire, some titty sucking and fingering leading them to eat each other out. The camera bounced around more here than in any other scene so whoever was drunk that day must have been left in charge, the ladies ending up in a stationary 69 where they could at least give an easier target while they sucked slit simultaneously. I half expected a super powered stream of splooge to fly their way through the wall but due to storyline constraints, this was not possible.

Scene Five: Samantha Ryan and Billy Glide as Lana Lang & Bizarro were up last sexually when he burst into her place unexpectedly. She sucked him off with a modicum of energy, his bizarre pecker substantially thicker than Ryan’s in a funny twist of events. As in most of the scenes, the costumed character stayed in costume, Samantha only taking a few inches of his cock into her mouth until one burst of energy showed her go half way down his rod, her hand limiting the depth in which she could go before he bent her over to give her a bone of her own. Billy was way larger than I thought she could handle vaginally as well, the gal mostly passive except for some modest attempts to ride him in cowgirl on the couch. It ended when he licked her pussy once, dove back inside of it, and pulled out to blast her chest with baby batter.

Summary: Man Of Steel XXX: An Axel Braun Parody by director Axel Braun for Vivid was all over the map in terms of the feature elements even if I thought Bryn Pryor’s rendition of a Kevin Spacey styled Lex Luthor was the best acting of the entire movie (by far at that). The cameos looked gratuitous (admittedly, Kimberly Kane as a fleshy Wonder Woman was a nice touch, too bad the cameo stopped where it did), Giovanni reprising his role as Batman well enough, but some seemingly tossed in to boost the character count unnecessarily (even mentions of characters like Lobo). The story was about as deep as a comic book from the 70’s and the sex, well, the sex could have been better in all the scenes. When the best sex scene in a movie is the lesbian tryst between Samantha Ryan and Kirsten Price, you know something is wrong. It had some minor stroke and entertainment value to merit a rating of Rent It but at least I understand now why early review copies were not forthcoming, the repeated decision to throw in everything but the kitchen sink wearing thin on some of these superhero parodies. In short, Man Of Steel XXX: An Axel Braun Parody looked and sounded good for a low budget quickie but given the hype, I simply expected more. How tough can it be to make a coherent little story using these time tested characters in a handful of sexual situations?
