Audio/Video Quality: Manhammer 9 was presented in anamorphic widescreen at 1.78:1 as shot by director Lexington Steele for Mercenary Pictures in this MPEG-2 encoded, 480p resolution, effort. The videographers this time included Tina Tyler, Mario Rossi, Damien, and Lexington Steele, the amount of technical folks shown in the final product as some scenes looked a lot better shot than others. The show appears to have been captured by a single, very fluidly moving camera at any time though (with all the tradeoffs associated with that choice), the camera itself appearing to have less resolution, especially under lower lighting circumstances, but easy enough to handle during the throes of passion, minimal POV material used but certainly not as much as the Pole Position series. The video bitrate varied substantially but when I spot checked it, the results showed to be in the 3.1 Mbps area a lot (sometimes higher, sometimes lower). The audio was presented in the standard 2.0 Dolby Digital English with a 192 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate. The vocals were generally easily heard, the director appearing to use the microphone attached to the camera and sticking close to them, sacrificing the medium and long shots to do so but the aural qualities of the voices were okay. There was no separation between the channels and the dynamic range was minimal but the emphasis was on the camera mounted audio, capturing most of the vocals reasonably well.

Body of Review: Lexington Steele has been a force to be reckoned with in the porn industry for years now, his genetically gifted penis the envy of many mopes and his work at Mercenary Pictures showing he can offer something behind the camera as well. While I don't get many of his titles, the latest one included Manhammer 9, the series having a reputation for quality technical work (thanks to Jimmy Scaffnetti directing the series for so long, sadly missing here) and premium female talent working with Lex himself. This time, there were five scenes, Lex only participating in a few of them, the ladies including seasoned veteran Aurora Snow, newcomer Kendra Star for your viewing pleasure. Going into the movie, I wanted better extras but the duration of the movie mitigated this aspect of the flick for me thanks to the selection of ladies included this time, the picture quality on the decent side for those that care. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

In short then, Manhammer 9 had some scenes with Lexington Steele, all scenes including anal and interracial action (depending on your definition since Lex wasn't in every scene, nor were all the men black) as the cover advertised making it a fair selection for fans of the genre but not the director's best work on technical or sexual elements.
