Audio/Video Quality: True Lust was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Tori Black for Archangel. Carlos Dee (AKA LosDee) worked the cameras as capably as he used to at Elegant Angel, Tori claiming this was her first directing job for a full movie after dabbling with a single scene in Seduction 4 starring Alina Li. As expected, Carlos did a fine job on the technical aspects of recording the trysts, the lighting and flesh tones accurate for the most part with only minor issues with compression artifacts or mosquito noise. The framing was well done and the editing seemed fairly smooth too, the aural aspects of the production recorded in monaural rather than stereo, no music credited. During the tease sequences, music would play instead of vocals but the vocals were otherwise crisp and clear in the show.

Body of Review: Tori Black was an increasingly popular performer before she stuck to the fringes of porn, the attractive young lady now directing for Archangel. In her first complete movie crediting her as director, a flick called True Lust, she teams up with production manager/cameraman Carlos Dee to provide a high quality showcase spotlight of super MILF Kendra Lust, a beautifully curvy woman who needs no introduction here on Xcritic. The movie gave Tori a perfect subject matter in shooting Kendra’s fantasies, the director deciding to consult with Kendra before casting her multitude of partners in order to elevate the resulting five scenes unlike the “one size fits all” model of showcasing a performer so common in the industry. As such, Kendra really shined in the scenes as she tried to provide some welcome diversity using partners such as Jada Stevens, Dani Daniels, Remy LaCroix, and Anikka Albrite as well as males such as Mick Blue, Prince Yahshua, Flash Brown and screen legend Sean Michaels, to their full advantage. Given my past experiences, I figured the technical side of things would be well covered (and it was courtesy of Carlos) and Kendra Lust always seems to shine in her scenes, but the wild card this time was Tori Black as director, who acquitted herself quite well by taking a big picture view of what fans would want (essentially boiling it down to giving Kendra more freedom than most directors to pick partners and outline what would excite her most), the resulting degree of strokability and replay value earning True Lust a rating of Highly Recommended not just for fans of Kendra Lust, this being a true “must have” for them, but also for a general audience that wants to see the entire cast having fun with each other as well as get some variety in action so check this one out and we can all look forward to whatever Tori has up her sleeve next.
