Audio/Video Quality: Phat Bottom Allstars was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen the scenes were originally shot in by director Manuel Ferrara for Evil Angel using the MPEG-2 codec. The quality of the visuals varied more than usual here but Manuel focused less on the technical matters instead of maintaining the usual sexual energy and chemistry. The lighting was decent and that eliminated most of the problems associated with gonzo productions, Manuel's works virtually always a few notches above the competition from what I've seen over the years in the series (as displayed in this double disc compilation). The editing was decent, if a little rushed, and the minor quirks on the technical side did not deter me from enjoying the scenes most of the time. The bitrate was all over the charts here with much of the footage coming in around the 3.2 Mbps range but there were not a lot of compression artifacts present that I could see. The audio was offered up in 2.0 Dolby Digital English using 192 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate but there was no separation noticed that I could figure out, and the dynamic range was pretty limited too; the scenes coming from quickly shot gonzo; the guerilla shooting style favored by pornographers everywhere.

Body of Review: Manuel Ferrara and his work as a director at Evil Angel is always a treat to watch since the majority of ladies give their best performances with him. That said, one of his best series for ass aficionados is called “Phat Bottom Girls”, the fleshy babes all given the royal treatment in lengthy tease sequences before they get busy having a great time sexually. The latest in the line is actually a compilation of scenes from the first five volumes called Phat Bottom Allstars, notable for having some truly strokable trysts that I have welcomed over the last two years I’ve been reviewing the series. With a great cast such as Kristina Rose, Ava Rose, Kelly Divine, Charley Chase, and several others in the ten provided scenes, I knew this would be a winner, the 7+ hours of material such that if you haven’t picked up the initial five volumes, you can get a solid sampling here.

The company website accurately described the scene like this: “In "Phat Bottom Allstars," Evil Angel director Manuel Ferrara has assembled fabulous scenes featuring the roundest, bounciest bums from the first five volumes of his popular "Phat Bottom Girls" series. The suave French purveyor of perversions took great care to select the finest females (with the most delectable derrieres) for this thickly packed compilation. While her ass was not as technically suited for the movie as the rest of the ladies in the cast in terms of size, she made up for it somewhat thanks to her aggressive moves and polished tease. When I first saw these, I thought they might not be attire at all, merely more of those spray painted body paints that were popular for awhile but as she slowly removed them, the effect was enhanced yet another step too. Summary: Phat Bottom Allstars by director Manuel Ferrara for Evil Angel was a compilation home run fit for collections as long as you don’t have any of the existing volumes in the series to date. I would have preferred some new material, such as a new scene or some introduction by the director as to why he picked each scene and/or why it was special to him but it merited a rating of Highly Recommended all the same given the strength of the scenes for me. The technical values were decent and I did not notice any cuts made to the ten scenes, the mesmerizing allure of the ladies as they gave all they had making this a very superior effort compared to the competitors on the market. In short, Phat Bottom Allstars gave a lot of fuck for the buck, the strokability, replay value, and casting enough to keep fans applying some hand to gland action for a very long time so check it out.
