The 8th Day, reminiscent of the apocalyptic movies of the 1970's, begins when Samantha Alexander (Kayden Kross) awakes from a generation-long slumber when the power source for her cryogenic suspended-animation cell begins to wane. After deliciously nude Sam arises from her sleep, she watches a message filmed decades before by her now-deceased father, the scientist who put her into long-term sleep. Dr. Alexander joyfully welcomes Sam to the future, a utopia he caused by creating an inexhaustible power source. While watching the video, Sam also notices--but does not understand the significance of--a downward-clicking timer that is counting down from eight days.
Sam, euphoric after her long rest, does not, at first, understand that something's terribly awry. However, she soon realizes that her father's lab is not in a pristine utopia, but, rather, is dilapidated and abandoned. Sam hurriedly finds some carefully-preserved clothes, fights her way out of the tumble-down lab, and discovers a nearly abandoned, mostly destroyed, and technology and power-free Los Angeles. Sam stumbles through the deserted streets until she finds evidence of humans. She works her way through the debris until she discovers a mistress (Kylie Ireland) and her two servants hiding in a filthy alley by a roaring fire. Sam watches the trio pleasure each other and then escapes just in the nick of time when a band of marauders attacks.
During the next few days, Sam is kidnapped, freed by a sexy scavenger (Amber Rayne), drug across the desert to an oasis, learns that the few remaining humans have been genetically altered and have broken into like-affected tribes, treated like royalty--and like scum, and eventually crucified by the edict of a prince who discovers that Sam is the offspring of the scientist who caused the earth's devastation.
Sam is often visited by her father in nightmares and he eventually makes her understand that the downward-counting timer in his lab refers to the amount of time until the lab's reactor melts down. If it does, time will end.
Each fall, we are gifted with the very best movies the adult industry can create as the studios prepare for awards presentations. This year, even though it's lean, is no different. As we look forward to the industry's best, believe me when I say, The 8th Day is the best of the best.
Not only is the plot engaging, but it is extremely well played by the major cast members, including Adam & Eve contract girl Kayden Kross, Amber Rayne, Tyler Night, and Ameatabh Bachan (who plays the prince in a non-sex role). Not only do female stars Kayden and Amber perform their speaking roles to a tee, but they also deliver over-the-top sexual performances, too.
The primary cast members are supported by a very fine group of sex-only performers including legendary Kylie Ireland and two of my very-special Must-See Girls Bree Olson and Tori Black.
Although five of the eight scenes in The 8th Day are worthy of "A+" grades, I simply must single out Scene Three. The 8th Day comes in a four-DVD9 set. The 04:25 movie fills two discs while the remaining two contain over nine hours of extras to excite your mind as well as your penis or vagina!
Bottom line? Buying a copy of The 8th Day is a no brainer. It's pricey, though. My advice? Quit smoking...and buy The 8th Day. Brown-bag your lunch...and buy The 8th Day. Skip dining out...and buy The 8th Day. Turn off the air conditioning...and buy The 8th Day.
