Extras: In terms of unrelated extras, the best of the batch was a bonus scene from "House of Ass #4" starring Amber Peach and Tom Byron. It wasn't exactly a wild ride but it did show some potential and energy. The best related extra was the 26:51 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. The gals were fun and added something to the proceeding, some establishing a bit of chemistry as they prepared to go to town giving up the ass. There was also a photogallery, some trailers, and the expected spam.

Audio/Video Quality: Unseasoned Players was presented in a 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen offering as shot by director Tom Byron for Tom Byron Pictures in the MPEG-2 codec (like most standard definition titles are, using a 480i resolution). The camera work mixed it up this time with a bit of tease footage taken inside the house, including some quality time of the ladies in skimpy outfits or naked, but much of it out by Tom's pool where the lighting was better too. The video maintained a bitrate of mid 4.1 Mbps most of the time, reducing the obvious compression artifacts to almost none and each scene provided solid fleshtones that appeared to be accurate as Craig Daze and Tom worked the cameras. The composition of the scenes was consistent too with the picture not always optimal (looking better this time though) but as far as Tom's work is concerned, it was shot with the ladies in mind; making the gals look their best for the most part or at least as much as the point of view style he employed could make them. The editing was generally decent, showing the same level of skill as the last time I checked out one of his movies for review, albeit I wished some additional tease footage was left in the scenes or provided in the extras section of the DVD. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English offering at 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate. There was no noticeable separation between the tracks and the dynamic range was limited but I could hear the ladies and the music was not a factor so I would say it was about average in most respects.

Body of Review: Tom Byron and his home base company, Tom Byron Pictures, have been around awhile to cater to a few niches porn seems to under represent such as salad tossing (females licking male ass), booty flicks and MILF endeavors (well, okay, the last two get an awful lot of coverage). In keeping with his devotion to keeping up with the times though, he decided to jump into an overly crowded market with youth-oriented Unseasoned Players. Personally, whatever benefits may be gained by mere youth alone (such as the claimed "tightness" of young pussy) are virtually always overshadowed by the skills of experience, new performers rarely as strong at their craft as truly seasoned veterans, but given the cast including babes such as Kagney Linn Karter, Gracie Glam, Sammy Grand, Brooke Lee Adams, and Giselle Ibiza, it was definitely of interest to me so I checked it out despite initial reservations. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Gracie Glam, a cute 18 year old brunette, was up first in a scene with Tom Byron (shot in 2008). The all natural gal seemed interested in all the usual things, even advocating NORML but claiming she was not into much more than vanilla sex practices. Her physical appeal based on youth was her selling point, the opening tease montage leading to an interview and the couple ending up on his bed. He ate her ass and pussy before a preliminary vaginal pounding led to her slobbing his knob, the POV footage looking decent when properly applied. She was most active during the cowgirl variations but was a long way from as skilled as she could have been. The scene ended with a facial and she provided some post coital head while looking at the camera.

Scene Two: Brooke Lee Adams, a thicker gal with decent curves, was up next on the couch being interviewed along with Mikey Butders, the lady suggesting she was only in porn for a short time. The interview was pretty basic and the montage mild, her dark pink bikini offering little resistance to Mikey as he pawed her pussy. Tossing aside her bottom, he went down on her too, fingering her to moans before she blew him with some degree of care. Her unpolished vaginal performance wasn't all that special for me though, limited active riding and clamping tight during the facial weakening it substantially.

Scene Three: Giselle Ibiza, a lean brunette claiming this was her second scene ever, was up next with Sascha, her attitude speaking volumes as to why Tom passed her up. She said she was 19 but her hardened approach was likely due to her first scene being with Tera Patrick's soon to be former husband, the gal shying away from anal no matter how much coaxing the guys gave her. I got the impression she escorted when she went out of her way to mention that she was back in California, Giselle looking at the camera too much. She had some marks on her and posed a lot while Sascha was trying to warm her up, the blowjob fair but nothing special and the various vaginal positions showing how limited her stage presence was at the time it was shot. Mechanical but energetic screwing is never a favorite of mine to watch though, the complete lack of chemistry or passion quite noticeable. It ended when he rubbed out a nut of genetic juice to her face for those that care.

Scene Four: Sammy Grand, another blond with thick hips in a red bikini, was up next with moper Mark Zane, after a short tease montage and interview. Tom teased about coining the term "blow bang" and she claimed she'd give him full credit when she did it in the future, the light interview touching on many subjects before the couple landed on the bed. The tease montage included a solo act and she blew moper Mark, the man failing to reciprocate orally (perhaps in retaliation for her repeated comments about preferring to work with James Deen). Her ass was nice and ripe and there was no doubt she'd sucked a few men off over the years, the largely passive vaginal sex not making the grade (and causing him to ejaculate his population pudding early to her face).

Scene Five: Kagney Linn Karter, the beauty featured on the front cover, was up last with Tom Byron, the man clearly not going to pass up on his chance to nail her as the current "it girl". The interview was out by the pool and the sexy young lady only did a host of vanilla sex with him (they ate each other out, vaginally screwed, and ended with a facial after taste testing) but the sweet gal oozed sexuality and displayed some modest energy. I expect Kagney will impress a horde of new fans in January at the AEE though, the 22 year old older than expected but well worth looking at in her various scenes.

Summary: Unseasoned Players by director Tom Byron for Tom Byron Pictures fell prey to the same issue that so often plagues similar newcomer efforts, inexperience and partner incompatibility weakening the chemistry and enthusiasm to merit a rating of Rent It as the best I could suggest. Tom had a lot of appealing ladies and your mileage may well vary but his strengths with older women, kinkier ladies, and other genres all work better than this one did. In short then, Unseasoned Players might well cater to the consumer love of ever younger women but the price paid in terms of sacrificing passion, enthusiasm, and chemistry was just too great.
