Audio/Video Quality: Sexsomnia was presented in a nicely enhanced anamorphic 1.78:1 ratio widescreen color as shot by director Zander for Vouyer Media. The majority of action took place inside the house with a little tease outside by the pool so the lighting was typically decent, eliminating the usual shadows, grain, and video noise indicative of porn. The camera angles and editing were fair to middling, the lighting leaving much to be desired this time (too many shadows). The fleshtones were a bit saturated at times (due to the lighting) and the bitrate hovered around the 4.5 Mbps area most of the time, minimal compression issues observed. There was also an intermittent, semi-annoying company watermark on the lower right hand corner of the screen at times. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English in a 256 Kbps offering with a 48 kHz sampling rate, never really adding much by way of aural stimulation but the ladies were easy to hear on those occasions when they were using dirty talk.

Body of Review: Zander is one of the generic directors at Vouyer Media, his works tending to be really hit or miss with little in between for me. His latest fuck flick sent my way is called Sexsomnia, borrowing the term made popular in the early episodes of House where a partner will engage in sexual gratification while asleep or close to it, the kind of impromptu trysts arising from the concept certainly worthy of fantasizing about. The cover sported hotty Alexis Texas but the cast also included notables such as Jynx Maze, Madison Ivy, and Aubrey Addams so I felt it had a decent chance of working for my spank bank material. For those who keep track of such things, the only anal sex came from Jynx Maze but there was some pretty fair boning going on, the colors a bit on the saturated side thanks to some weak lighting.

Jynx Maze with Pete

Scene One: Alexis Texas, the bountifully beautiful blond featured on the front cover, was up first in sheer lingerie as she caressed Marco Banderas in bed. Summary: Sexsomnia by director Zander for Vouyer Media fell short of the mark by offering up a mostly generic set of sex scenes focused on a theme that many might consider dangerously close to non-consensual sex so I rated it as a Rent It but a few of the scenes offered replay value and strokability beyond the appeal of just the lady involved. Jynx Maze made the mark as did Madison Ivy, Alexis Texas hot enough to merit a nod merely by looking so darned strokable. In short, Sexsomnia did little to advance the quality of the company coffers but at least showed a willingness to think outside the box in terms of providing fans what they want in terms of serendipitous sexual trysts we’d all like to wake up to (with the right partners of course) so give it a look if you like the cast, just don’t expect this to be Zander’s best work to date.
