Extras: There was a slideshow and pop shot compilation from the scenes but the best extra by far was the 35:05 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. It started with an interview by bubbly Carmen Caliente, moving to Selena, then Jynx (but no Luna) for 16:09 minutes until a photoshoot montage with music playing that showcased all of them.

Audio/Video Quality: Latin Asses was presented in a sharp anamorphic widescreen as shot by director William H. Nutsack for Hard X. I have been enjoying his works for years under the Elegant Angel and Jules Jordan banners so I had no doubt that he and his crew would be hitting home runs left and right under the Hard X/Mile High deal, “Squirt For Me” and “Remy” released to critical praise. As expected, the strong lighting provided accurate fleshtones (other than some occasional yellow tint, primarily an issue in Carmen’s scene), the camera work was as steady as ever, and the editing by Robert Laplanc was as smooth as ever in the four scenes. There was tease at the beginning of each scene instead of a goofy interview or going right to the sex, enough variety of positions, and each ended as expected with a largely fine cast. The scenes were shot in 1080p for this standard definition release, the resolution strong enough that I could see all sorts of fine details under the sunlight of the tease or in the house, even watching it on my big screen television resulted in few observable issues compared to other titles.

Body of Review: William H. Nutsack is a director well known for his quality gonzo work over the years, the bulk of his career being at Elegant Angel where the man literally restored them to relavance before they collapsed a few years back. He then served a tour at Jules Jordan Video where he again started garnering nominations and awards for his work before most recently landing at Hard X to join former coworker Mason in reviving their good old days as a team. His latest title for the company is called Latin Asses, a tribute to curvy Latinas such as the amazing Jynx Maze, the delightful Carmen Caliente, sultry MILF Luna Star, and even former contract cutie Selena Rose under her “new” name of Selena Santana now that she is free from Digital Playground. The good news is that the ladies were paired up with some great male talent in most cases, Luna scoring Mick Blue, Selena getting Manuel Ferrara, and Carmen paired with James Deen; Jynx ending up with Ramon Nomar not my first choice by any stretch of the imagination though she did manage to elevate his status this time. While not in every scene, there was some anal here too, the show holding a lot of promise going into it. The back cover described the movie like this: “Hard X is proud to present their newest feature, this time focusing on sexy Latinas. Starring Selena Santana, Luna Star, Jynx Maze and Carmen Caliente, this release showcases the sexiest LAtin women in the industry! Renowned director William H. perfectly captures all the steamy passion, including scenes with anal sex. Shot in beautiful HD, this release is not to be missed.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Luna Star, a lean MILF in black mesh body stocking and a black g-string, was up first with studly Mick Blue, her sultry tease montage in front of the fireplace and on the bed emphasizing her delicious ass though fans of her right sized implants, attractive face or fine little cookie will appreciate it too. The casting of ladies such as Jynx Maze, Carmen Caliente, Luna Star, and Selena Rose Santana with men such as Manuel Ferrara, Mick Blue, and James Deen was solid, the technical values well done, and the amount of energy each of the team put in helped make this one stand out enough to merit a rating of Highly Recommended. In short, Latin Asses proved again that “Nutsack was back” in the game, his first releases for the company quite well received too. In an age when we’re told to have diminishing expectations as companies cut corners, reduce the amount of strokable footage and extras, and rarely provide first class performers nearly as much as this title did, it’s good to see guys like Nutsack bucking the trend for a change so check this one out.
