Audio/Video Quality: Buttman At Nudes A Poppin' 19 was presented in the standard 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that director John Stagliano shot it for release by his company, Evil Angel. The camerawork was handled yet again by John Stagliano, Tricia Devereaux, and Big John with Tricia handling some of the production chores yet again. As always, it looked like barely controlled chaos you'd expect it too; as far away from a controlled porn set as possible with the masses of onlookers (Ron said there were 15,000 people present) making cat calls, commenting, and even John talking all the time. The edits were better this time than in years past, allowing the camera to linger more than jump away. The fleshtones were accurate and the composition of the shots seemed more in tune with a professionally shot piece than ever before. If you're happy seeing random bite of naked ladies prancing around and stripping on the stage, you'll find this to be a wonderful DVD visually. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English with all the usual problems of background noise, edits interrupting the music (including a bit by one of the members of Blues Traveler) but it was exactly what was expected nonetheless.

Body of Review: John Stagliano, the founder and head of Evil Angel, has long held a certain fascination with the female form; proving he's a normal guy that can openly appreciate the finer things in life, especially female ass. While his movies over the years have been well received for the genius that he is, he doesn't make a lot of titles any more, preferring to savor life in its fullest as he expands his empire and enjoys his role as a family man. Still, he managed to make his yearly trek to Roselawn, Indiana to the Ponderosa Sun Club for their stripper competition with the result being his latest in the series; Buttman At Nudes A Poppin' 19. It's been awhile since I saw either Buttman At Nudes A Poppin' 16 or Buttman At Nudes A Poppin' 15 but the shows are always fun to watch as strippers from all over the world congregate to strut their stuff and win big prizes while hordes of perverts gawk at them like they've never seen a barely dressed woman before. The full light of day is harsh on some of the ladies but others really looked good with some returning champions seeking to show their latest moves. The cover put it like this: "Strippers from all over the country competing and showing off at a nudist camp in Indiana! How American can you get! There are awards from Miss Nude Galaxy (every human life from in the Milky Way was invited!) to "Best Go Go" and of course "Best Ass." The fun part for me is exposing in bright sunshine the incredible moves these girls have developed in dark corners of strip clubs. This was one of the best showers ever. Just look at the pictures!" That said, here's a short overview of the action, noting that the DVD isn't your typical porno in that there wasn't a lot of sex going on this time.

Okay, fans of the show know that on the third Sunday of July and August, the Ponderosa holds what amounts to the biggest competition of strippers outside of the industry events held in Las Vegas. While most of the ladies competing are not, nor want to be, porn stars, they get the validation of thousands of screaming, cheering fans that those busy nights at their strip club don't seem to provide. A contest win can propel a gal onto the feature circuit and make her a lot more money as a result but the emphasis displayed in the show was clearly on making the ladies shine as best they could with numerous clips of their performances.

The show was hosted by Ron Jeremy, Teri Weigel, and reportedly Vanilla Ice but Ron was seen & heard far more than any of the others in the movie. The male strippers were relegated to very little footage but the emphasis here was on the stage performances of the ladies (good idea) so that's to be expected. There were some porn performers in the mix and a range of notable celebrities in the background some of the time but the main draw were the strippers. Fans of the female form will find that they came in all shapes and sizes too; from thin to fat to pleasantly fleshy with a lot of ladies sporting muscular bodies or skin tone. In terms of looks, the ladies went from fetching hot to plain to "glad she works in a dark club" just as in terms of fitness, some of the ladies were flexible enough to go down on themselves from the looks of it while others were in need of more time at the gym. If you enjoy watching naked women strip, walk around, and generally act like they enjoy showing off their goodies, you'll like this series as a whole and this volume in particular. It wasn't full of the staged performances you'll find in most porn and the technical considerations varied a bit but you'll understand why I rated it as Recommended for all it had to offer. If you get the chance, go to the actual event but you could do far worse than picking up the DVD as the next best thing. You'll get to see some of the best strip acts available at about the price of a single lap dance.

Summary: Buttman At Nudes A Poppin' 19 was as much fun as Buttman At Nudes A Poppin' 16 and Buttman At Nudes A Poppin' 15 thanks in large part to the natural talent of director John Stagliano for letting the gals do their thing and capturing as much footage as possible. In short, the combination of ladies, nudity, fun and attempt to show some of the highlights made Buttman At Nudes A Poppin' 19 one of the most enjoyable of the non-explicit titles released by Evil Angel since Smother Me.
