The Movie:

While it might have been shot a few years ago in 2005, Celeste's ode to fifties pin-up and cheesecake modeling was shot on HD so it makes sense that Digital Playground would have to port this disc over to Blu-ray, particularly when you consider that it features Jesse Jane pretty prominently. There isn't a plot to speak of, but each scene dolls up the girls in post WWII style lingerie and allows them to primp and pose in the kind of manner that would have made Vargas a very happy man indeed.

Here's a look at the action:

Scene One - Jesse Jane And Evan Stone: Jesse's strutting around the pool in a slinky pink outfit, teasing the camera and showing off the goods, striking a few poses here and there. She's looking pretty good, even if she really has turned into a Barbie Doll at this point. Evan approaches her and gives her a rub down. They get naked and make out and then she gets down on all fours so that he can fuck her doggie style. She rides him reverse cowgirl and then they lay on their sides for some spoon fucking. The biggest strike against it is that there isn't really any live audio, instead, like a few of their releases, the action plays out while instrumental music plays over top. Without the sounds of sex to accompany the deed itself, this otherwise very nicely made feature can't quite get it up they way it should have.

The DVD

Video:

Posh Kitten looks nice in this 1080p AVC 1.78.1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, once again proving that the guys doing the HD authoring over at Digital Playground know what they're doing. There's a lot of detail present throughout, even in the scenes that have been filtered to look intentionally soft (the movie frequently employs a soft look to give the picture a dream-like quality). There aren't any issues at all with compression artifacts or edge enhancement while color reproduction and skin tones look excellent throughout. There aren't any problems with shimmering either, resulting in a very eye-pleasing transfer.

Sound:

The sole audio track on this Blu-ray release is a 48 kHz 448 kbps Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound mix in English. The audio on this release is fine but it isn't as impressive as the transfer is - and it really would have been nice to see an HD sound mix included. There isn't really much in the way of dialogue or moaning and groaning to be concerned about, it's really just music here and not much more. That said, the levels are all properly balanced. The score sounds particularly good and there aren't any problems with background hiss or distortion at all. For an adult movie, the audio quality is better than average, but it doesn't really take advantage of the Blu-ray format at all.

Extras:

DP have included a quick Behind The Scenes featurette that gives us a look at what it was like on set. We see the guys and girls getting into 'character' and prepping for their scenes and we're treated to some rather candid and fluffy interview snippets. There's nothing particularly remarkable here, but it's worth a quick look.

Motion menus, the standard Digital Playground trailer gallery, a still gallery, contact info, and scene selection round out the supplements on this release. All of the extras are presented in standard definition.

Final Thoughts:

Posh Kitten looks fantastic and it features some truly inspired candy coated hardcore, but the audio, or lack or any real audio, definitely detracts from the experience and the extras are nothing to write home about. That said, those with an affinity for pin-up style erotica will no doubt dig what Celeste and company have done with this release, which makes it worth a look for those who share that kink and a solid rental for the masses.
