Extras: The only extra worth noting was the short, 6:28 minute long Behind the Scenes feature, only showing some of the cast getting photoshoots done or playing with the dogs. Otherwise, there was a photogallery and a few trailers but that was all other than the slipcase for the DVD case.

Audio/Video Quality: Hollywood Icons Come To Life was presented in a 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen offering as shot by director Lizzy Borden for Tom Byron Pictures in the MPEG-2 codec (like most standard definition titles are, using a 480 resolution). The quick version of the visuals is that they are better looking than projects associated with the director from before her legal troubles, the rough edges polished up a bit by a more contemporary crowd of assistants from what I could tell. The video maintained a bitrate of about 4.3 Mbps most of the time I spot checked it, reducing the obvious compression artifacts to an acceptable number, the straightforward nature of the scenes always handled in an interesting manner. Lizzy has long been associated with gross out porn so this was an appreciated change of pace for me, again amounting to her best work in years for those that still care. The editing was generally solid too, showing some attention to detail that I appreciated. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English offering at 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate. There was no noticeable separation between the tracks and the dynamic range was limited but I could hear the ladies and the music was not a factor so I would say it was aurally average in most respects.

Body of Review: Lizzy Borden is one of the most original ladies to work both in front of and behind the camera in the porn world, the talented woman now releasing movies under the Tom Byron Pictures banner. The name of her newest movie is Hollywood Icons Come To Life, a cute series of five tributes to mainstream stars with the usual Lizzy touches to keep things from getting boring. With Jennifer White, Nika Noir, Britney Amber, McKenzie Lee, and Kaci Starr impersonating their mainstream counterparts the way we wish we remembered them, I couldn’t help but be impressed with the nods to pornify aspects as though each had their own celebrity sex tape. The back cover described the show like this: “Have you ever wished for celebrity sex tapes from the Golden Age of cinema? Hollywood Icons Come to Life reveals the naughty trysts of your favorite movie personalities. Audrey, Elvis, Marilyn, Joltin' Joe, Chaplin, Cleopatra and Raquel leap off the silver screen in hot, steamy sex scenes. Grab the popcorn and enjoy these icons! Love, Lizzy Borden.” Here’s a very brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Breakfast At Tiffany’s: McKenzie Lee, the thick-lipped brunette seen on the lower right hand corner of the cover, was up first with her portrayal of Audrey Hepburn. Her partner was Elvis impersonator Anthony Rosano, his version of the popular entertainer somewhat weaker than that of Dale DaBone (and others) but amusing all the same as upper crust McKenzie went from smoking her cancer stick to smoking his bone at the dinner table after a kiss. Scene Four: Cleopatra: Jennifer White, the exotic brunette seen on the upper right hand corner of the cover, was up next as Cleopatra, the mighty Evan Stone portraying her lover Mark Anthony. The cheese factor aside, the pair were sexually well suited for one another, each giving the other some oral pleasure before screwing like a couple of long lost lovers. Summary: Hollywood Icons Come To Life by director Lizzy Borden for Tom Byron Pictures had a lot going for it compared to the multitude of copycat parodies that have flooded the market in the last few years, the different take on certain aspects of celebrities from days gone by enough to merit more than a look if you enjoy any of the performers list in the cast above. In all, the sexual portions of the movie were decent much more “couples friendly” than earlier works from the director, meriting a rating of Recommended or better as far as I was concerned when watching it. My girlfriend thought about half of the scenes were really well done, enjoyed the others on their personal strengths, and seemed to think bigger budgets might elevate Lizzy’s status into the realm of some of the better known parody kings if allowed a chance. That said, Hollywood Icons Come To Life was a series of five loosely tied together vignettes of vintage celebrity inspired sexual trysts, poking fun at some while giving viewers the wood to poke a few things on their own if watched so check it out.
