The Movie:

Digital Playground seems intent on releasing all of the Stoya footage they can these days and you can't really blame them. Her stuff sells for reason and her substantial fanbase know that she almost always delivers a top notch scene. And thus was born Robby D's A Taste Of Stoya, a decent feature that slaps her picture on the front but which only features her in two scenes. Thankfully the other three are of reasonable quality as well, making this one pretty easy on the eyes.

Here's a rundown of who fucks who and who they do it:

A Taste Of Stoya looks very good in this 1080p AVC 1.85.1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. Thankfully Robby D. chose to light this in a fairly natural style, so skin looks like skin, there are no orange or hot looking hues here as seems to be fairly common in HD porn. Everything looks quite nice and natural. There's an insane amount of detail present not only on the performers but also in the sets and backgrounds/sets used in the production. There aren't any issues at all with compression artifacts or edge enhancement while color reproduction and skin tones look excellent throughout. Eagle-eyed viewers may spot just a hint of shimmer here and there but you do have to be looking for it to notice it.

Sound:

The sole audio track on this Blu-ray release is a 48 kHz 448 kbps Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound mix in English. The audio on this release is fine but it isn't as impressive as the transfer is and it'd be nice to see Digital Playground embrace lossless audio on their Blu-ray releases. Dialogue and music both stay clean and clear throughout and the levels are all properly balanced. The score's resonance and bounce sounds good and there aren't any problems with background hiss or distortion at all. The audio here won't blow you away but it certainly won't disappoint you either even if there isn't a whole lot of rear channel action worth noting.

Extras:

As seems to be the norm with their Blu-ray releases, Digital Playground has supplied only one real extra, and it's a ten minute behind the scenes piece. Usually these are little more than superficial fluff piece but this one is actually worth checking out as it lets lovely Stoya talk about her early life, her career and her likes and dislikes and she does so with a surprisingly earnest sense of humor. It's too brief to offer up much real substance but it is at least amusing enough to be worth a look. Some of the dialogue is a little hushed so subtitles are supplied on screen.

Motion menus, a bunch of Digital Playground trailers (in HD), a still gallery, contact info, and scene selection round out the supplements on this release.

Final Thoughts:

A Taste Of Stoya really could have used a bit more screen time from its cover girl but all in all it's a well made feature with two smoldering sex scenes and three decent ones. Stoya's fanbase will definitely appreciate this more than others as her two moments in front of the camera are hot as hot can be. Digital Playground's Bu-ray release is of the same good quality as most of their recent offerings, though the transfer here seems just a little nicer and more natural looking. Highly recommended for die-hard Stoya devotees, a solid 'recommended' for everyone else down with feature style smut.
