Extras: The best extra was the 14:55 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that showed a lot of enthusiasm and energy on the sets of the movie. Mason was clearly in charge and the cast was having a lot of fun as usual with Mason interjecting comments but all the ladies making it clear they wanted to do one another. There were also some trailers, a photogallery, a pop shot recap, and some spam for those that care.

Audio/Video Quality: Pornstar Workout was presented in a crisp 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as released by director Mason for Elegant Angel using the standard definition MPEG-2 codec with 480p resolution (the Blu-ray to be released in 1080p). The camera work was solid with plentiful lighting to eliminate grain, video noise and shadows and the picture appeared to be crisp this time. Mason has made or assisted on a number of titles over the years, the technical matters taking back seat (pun intended) to the raw energy of the sex, but her skill levels have definitely been improving with the camera too, showing she pays attention to those that care. I saw no compression artifacts (it was largely falling around the mid 4.2 Mbps video bitrate; modest enough for a SD flick but better than many on the market these days) and the composition of the camera angles strongly favored the female performers as most of her work these days tends to do. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English track was pretty basic with little separation or dynamic range yet I could hear the cast well enough in most cases. For those keeping track, the audio was offered in a 192 Kbps offering with a 48 kHz sampling rate, plenty of room considering how little took place on it but leaving room for future efforts too. The music came from My Beat Shop, Stock Music, & Stock Music Site and was appreciated in each case, the edits helping make the blending of sight and sound especially heated during the montage openings.

Body of Review: Mason is an acclaimed female director at Elegant Angel, the lady routinely proving she is just as hardcore loving as any male counterpart found in the industry. For years, it was beat into our collective heads that women directors had to be more into erotica or did not like pushing the limits of their performers (no matter what said performers wanted to do) so she joined Belladonna to show the world that women can be just as perverted as guys on both sides of the camera. Mason's latest title is called Pornstar Workout and like the company's other vignette-drive titles, the emphasis was on teasing and pleasing with a select group of especially sexy ladies (and guys they wanted to have sex with). The company website described the title like this: "Adult entertainment studio, Elegant Angel Productions, has announced its innovative new series, Pornstar Workout, featuring the return performance of Mia Rose, and an epic all star cast. The movie is directed by the AVN award winning, Mason, and features five visually stunning and extended workout scenarios. This is Mason's first HD release, shot in 16:9, 1080p, and it will be released on both DVD and Blu Ray." The quick version of this review is that fans will be extremely happy with the clarity of vision and solid technical values but also the superb casting choices made for the show. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: 80's Workout: Sunny Lane, Kristina Rose, and Ava Rose were up first in a warehouse where they worked out much like the professional dancing movies of the 1980's (complete with leg warmers) in unison. Sunny is regularly referred to as "porn royalty", Kristina as hot & nasty as a cutie can be, and Ava far better than most bootilicious brunettes under contract could ever hope to be. The tease consisted largely of an inquisitive camera scoping them out in their workout thongs bouncing around to music that would be at home in any Jonni Darkko flick, appealing to me as much because it was suggestive without being overtly sexual as anything else. Then studly Manuel Ferrara joined them on the ever-present couch in the middle of the room (the one that wasn't there earlier) for the gals to rub their delicious asses on his face before he began orally servicing them with his tongue. The ladies also engaged in some lesbo action but the main course of the day was his cock, each gal giving him some head throughout the movie and taste testing one another frequently. The fitness tips were decent but the eye candy even better as the pair showed just how much room there is in porn for some fun but sexy fitness tips, not to mention Mark Ashley joining them. Phoenix was the better of the two in terms of the tease and fitness message but Charley was a lot of fun too, making me think there could be a real market for this kind of thing even without the sex. The gals were soon showing a lot of skin and going down on each other, Mark reciprocating as well as receiving some heated sex. Phoenix made sweet use of her ass for fingers, tongues, and eventually Mark's cock as he pounded her hard, Charley content with the vaginal penetration offered up. In short, Pornstar Workout was a workout that you will appreciate at home as much as the satisfied partners in the scene did, the degree of circus act sex truncated this time in favor of broader appeal by the well known female director.
