Audio/Video Quality: DP Overdose was presented in letterboxed widescreen as shot by director Mike John (and Tim Von Swine) for Jules Jordan Video. I have seen a number of these scenes over the years and know that the more recent scenes looked better in anamorphic widescreen as originally shot, the editing on many of them (to exercise the blowbang follow-ups or some of the introductory tease) problematic for me. Still, the lighting, the camera work, and the technical values were still better than most of their peers produce even now, the amounts of energy enhanced by the technical aspects of the movie’s ten scenes. The audio was again as basic as ever (2.0 Dolby Digital, 192 Kbps bitrate) but aside from some portions of a few scenes being too low (others distorted by being set too high), it was an okay experience aurally too.

Body of Review: Mike John and Tim Von Swine are a couple of the best POV/Gonzo directors in porn, their works distributed by Jules Jordan Video. Their latest release is an uncredited compilation (as in, nowhere does it mention that it is a compilation) called DP Overdose. The double disc title has a plethora of hot ladies going all out to ride cock aggressively in pussies, mouths, and assholes, each scene providing ample amounts of double penetration (DP) footage for fans that enjoy it. My biggest problem with the newly edited footage is that a lot of material was taken out, typically follow up blowbangs, some introductory material, and the like, the other issue for me being that the scenes were presented in letterboxed widescreen rather than their original aspect ratios. I know that sounds kind of geeky but those that have decent home theaters should appreciate that someone is willing to point this stuff out rather than kiss up, the quality of the trysts otherwise very appealing. Here’s a very brief look at the scenes (mostly from the original versions of the scenes per the reviews) by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

The ladies were attractive, skilled performers, and worthy of checking out but I maintain that seeing them in their original releases would make more sense since you will get their entire performances, my rating of Rent It not diminishing the fact that no scene was a loser, I just can’t reward a production if I know better versions are out there to be enjoyed. In that sense, there really was a lot of quality fuck for the buck and strokability here, the double disc title showcasing over five hours of footage including some blasts from the past such as Keri Sable, Jasmine Byrne, and Adrianna Nicole. In short then, DP Overdose might be best viewed as a sampler to be considered as an introduction to Mike (and Tim’s) works involving double penetration, just don’t forget to look into seeing the full fledged scenes (often in anamorphic widescreen) as part of their original releases rather than here.
