Extras: The only real extras were the photogallery, pop shot recap, and some trailers, some spam and “positions menu” material included for those that care (a “special offer” link included too). I hated the forced commercials though, skipping them with my remote as needed.

Audio/Video Quality: Brand New Faces #44 was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment. The visuals and audio were both decent, the amount of lighting and limited camera movement helping capture the ladies at their best. The editing did not seem intrusive most of the time and I could hear the vocals just fine, some whispered dirty talk helping a few scenes to stand out from the pack. In all, the technical qualities of the production were largely the same as ever which is a good thing in most ways, the bulk of footage shot competently.

Body of Review: B. Skow had been the lead director at Vivid Entertainment until seeking greener pastures. His approach to porn has been appreciated and I have found a lot to appreciate in his post-Vivid productions. The latest release of his under the Vivid banner is called Brand New Faces #44, this time using a few young ladies that actually went on to shoot more scenes (my favorite type of performer in the series since I get to see how much they progress). The ladies included Jaslene Jade (65 movies), Jessica Jordan, Jenna Gold, and Marissa Banks (8 movies). The premise of the series is simple in that Skow shot a lot of women in their first recorded sex scenes for the company website, the DVD series compiling the lengthy trysts where the starting interview allows fans to get to know the ladies, they then masturbate and have sex (usually with a man); the series even including a guarantee of your money back. Here’s a very brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Annabell Ametrine, a cute gal with erect nipples, was up first as she nervously answered Skow’s questions on the couch, her tight pants and skimpy white crop top enhancing her figure before she was paired up with Xander Corvus. Summary: Brand New Faces #44 by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment earned a rating of Rent It as far as I was concerned, a couple of decent performances surrounded by ladies that would do better performing on a more personal level given their reactions to the cameras. I could see why Jaslene Jade and Marissa Banks might go on to do more though some of the others had untapped potential, making it a mixed bag for me. In short, Brand New Faces #44 was not a new high level for the series but the ladies gave up some fun filled performances worth checking out, the merits of the series premise having long been established so check it out.
