Being, until now, a "California College Student Bodies" virgin, I can't say how No. 53 ranks in comparison with Nos. 1 to 52, but it's a fairly rousing entry in the amateur porn field. Five pretty, young, unbuxom girls who may be college students (or at least may have performed at a frat party or two) engage in brief chitchat with an unseen director before getting down with an often faceless guy. The sex is pretty standard: fellatio, cunnilingus, vaginal intercourse.

Cheerful black cutie Janaya Love, who states her age as 22, kicks things off with an encounter with the slim dick of Damon (we never see his face). A brief bit of fellatio leads to a rubberized hump session and a facial climax.

Next is DVD box cover girl Jenni Lee, a lean, blue-eyed brunette who wears a cap throughout most of her scene. She talks about her joint goals: winning a spot on the cheerleading team and experiencing a big cock. Fortunately, stocky older guy Troy, who has some mysterious pull with the cheering squad, steps in to the rescue with his big-headed joint. The demure Jenni swallows Troy's toy down to his pubis then rides hims to her heart's content before taking a faceful.

The third scene forgoes any semblance of plot setup, with strawberry blonde Kelly B and Johnny Irons simply walking into a mechanic's garage -- how romantic -- and going through some hard-surface humping (also involving a condom). Kelly's tongue happily takes the load.

Lanky Paris Hilton type Vivian Luv follows with an oral-only scene with Lincoln. She eyes the camera constantly while filling her mouth, and despite her occasional giggles, she seems bored.

Pretty, pierced-tongue brunette Jayleine Brock brings things to a nice finale. Asked in the premlinary interview if she likes giving head, she responds quietly, "A little bit" -- then proves that a little is quite a lot as she slips out of her track suit and enjoys herself with Johnny. Again, a rubber is put in play but comes off in order for Jayleine's mouth to be filled with jizz.

THE DVD

This Home Grown Video DVD has a good deal of pluses, but a sluggish technical performance diminishes enjoyment. Pop the disc into your player, and a phone sex ad (showing explicit sex) starts playing automatically. Hitting your Skip or Menu buttons does nothing, though you can fast-forward through the ad to get to ... another ad, this one advising viewers where to send their homemade videos for possible use in a future HGV release.

Eventually, after a good deal of blank screen time, you'll get to the main menu, which is decently set up, offering live-action frames of the five girls to choose from. (Each girl, in turn, gets a live frame and four or five chapter stops labeled Play All, Foreplay, Climax, etc.

The picture (presented in standard full frame) is well lit and the sex is efficiently captured from a variety of angles, but the sound, as with so many gonzo titles, is iffy; the interviewer (i.e., the guy nearest the camera's microphone) sounds loudest and clearest while the girls, whose words and orgasm-crazed utterances we want badly to hear, are frequently inaudible.

On the upside, the DVD has decent extras. A bonus scene, taken from Home Grown Video #648, features Claudine, a brunette with big beautiful breasts, Bettie Page bangs and a somewhat hairy bush (all the girls in the feature are pube-less or close to it) playing with a dildo, then sucking and humping real man meat.

We get girls farting, lots of loud pussy farting, heads bumping into cameras, phones ringing and dogs howling during sex scenes, messed up line readings and bad acting in general, as well as just plain goofing around (like a girl who sucks dick in time to the music playing in the background).

THE LAST WORD

Home Grown Video, a well-established specialist in amateur porn, offers a solid if unremarkable disc here. The five girls (six, if you count the bonus scene) are all very pretty and non-porn-like, with a girl-next-door sweetness that belies their get-nasty nature. A strong lineup of extras helps to compensate for the disc's sometimes balky navigational behavior. Certainly worth a rental for pornsters looking for fresh faces.
