Extras: The separate extras included a cast list, a pop shot compilation, a company promotional trailer, photogalleries, filmographies, some websites, and trailers. Unlike most companies, Aiden adds the behind the scenes footage into the movie itself or at very least into the stated running time (against industry convention), the first disc having a 113:05 minutes of Behind the Scenes action, often more entertaining than the scenes were (especially James and Dana’s gambling exploits though their attempts to generate media controversy fell short) and the second disc having a 95:13 minute BTS (the bulk of it consisting of Chastity though some of the best material coming from Jada and Alex). For the most part, the BTS showed the chemistry of the cast as they chatted, enjoyed each other’s presence, and showed more nudity but it added to the value of the show for me regardless of the placement, not as much included this time but it was still fun to observe.

Audio/Video Quality: What An Asshole was presented in the usual 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Aiden Riley for Evil Angel. The camera work seemed to rely on a single camera shooting the trysts and warming up material, the inclusion of playful activities in the field or around the house just icing on the cake. The lighting during the sex was a mixed bag at times but the technical stuff was fairly well done here (especially compared to earlier efforts by the director and his spouse). There was a company watermark located on the lower right corner for those keeping track but it was unobtrusive to me and I was paying attention. In any case, the audio was presented in a similar fashion with a 2.0 Dolby Digital English offering that sounded hollow with no separation between the channels and no music to bore you with during the sex. Still, it was similar to most gonzo titles out at this time, the sonic portion less important to most fans than the visuals.

Body of Review: Aiden Riley used to be considered a behind the scenes guy at Evil Angel for all the Belladonna movies, but these days the man has taken over production of their movies earning him full cover credits. His latest title sent for review is called What An Asshole, a double disc set of scenes where the dynamic contrasted two ideals; that of the romantic tryst against that of the reality of hardcore, nasty anal sex. Having read the description of the show, I could see why none of the team were overly enthusiastic about reviewing it, dropping it in my lap as it were, but as much as I felt the contention that the titular saying of “what an asshole” has ever been used in a positive context outside of porn, it did seem to capture the sentiments of many looking at the performers on the front cover. That said, few could argue that any movie starring Jada Stevens, Mischa Brooks, Chastity Lynn, or Dana DeArmond as the targets of anal affection could be less than rewarding as inspirational material, the net result being for me to derive some pleasure once I dismissed the scenarios establishing the scenes.

The company website described the title like this: “When gazing upon a beautiful girl's winking sphincter, some guys have been known to exclaim in admiration, "What an asshole!" When a girl's dating some seemingly nice, romantic fellow who, in the bedroom, turns into a sexually dominant, anally obsessed fuck beast, she might say the same thing. Summary: What An Asshole by Aiden Riley for Evil Angel was fun to watch, the strokability and replay value enhanced by the amounts of chemistry in the scenes and the BTS footage serving as the primary extra so it earned a rating of Recommended, the primary kink being how different points of view come into play when sexual terms are used. In short, What An Asshole was a bit rough around the edges for my tastes but I have to hand it to Aiden for how he brought something off the beaten track into the world of formulaic porn scenes, the anal trysts sure to elicit gobs of ball batter in the homes of fans and casting ladies such as Chastity Lynn, Mischa Brooks, Jada Stevens, and Dana DeArmond against a plethora of men that are often referred to in terms conducive to the titular phrase so give it a look if you are at all interested as you just might be surprised.
