Extra's: On the first disc, there was an audio commentary and a set of five interviews with female cast members that ranged from a bit over 4 minutes to nearly 8.5 minutes. The audio commentary was between director Manuel Ferrara and lead performer Katsumi with each contributing a few anecdotes on occasion but there wasn't a lot of quality material here. Still, it wasn't bad and if you have the time, check it out. On the second disc, the extras started out with an 18.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Juan Cuba and Jake Malone. Most of it was spent on Katsumi although towards the end there were some of the others in it too. I thought it curious that the other gals would look at Rita's preparations so intently (she was putting on some perfume or something) but it was cool. Next up were a series of five photoshoots with the gals (Rita, Karina, Jada, Vicky, and Katsumi) and some strip tease by them and Victoria (where each were given a few minutes to shine). There was then a cumshot recap and a photogallery with a double sided DVD cover filling out the rest.

Audio/Video Quality: Katsumi's Dirty Deeds was presented in the unusual 1.85:1 non-anamorphic widescreen color. The lighting was decent and that helped to control the grain and video noise. The fleshtones were accurate and the composition of the shots appeared to keep in mind the need to enhance the look of the ladies. I didn't see any compression artifacts and the moody effects didn't hurt the show for me in the slightest. The stereo English audio was reasonably well done although I thought it sounded like it were originally in monaural and processed to make it appear like stereo (the music was almost certainly stereo). In the audio commentary, the levels changed abruptly from time to time but it was otherwise okay.

Body of Review: As gonzo porn producers find the competition stifling with more and more directors trying to get in on the profitable genre, they appear to recognize the need to provide something a bit offbeat to get buyers interested. After all, other than the mostly untalented newcomers to the industry, the majority of performers are the "same old faces, doing the same old tricks" as one fan put it recently. In that spirit; Manuel Ferrara directed Katsumi's Dirty Deeds, a gonzo release with a bit more of an edge to it than usual. Starring Katsumi in the leading role, she explores her sexually depraved fantasies with the help of some truly twisted individuals. If that sounds like something of interest to you, read the brief scene breakdowns that describe what the cast was doing in this intriguing attempt at style by a gonzo director:

Scene One: Katsumi, while laying on her bed with a teddy bear for company, masturbated using lots of cool toys. I thought she had fun as her face was flush, her nipples erect, and her breathing hard but I'll admit I was thankful to learn it was a short scene designed to warm her up for the real action in the rest of the movie.

Scene Two: Vicky Vette, the curvy MILF wearing heavy make up and a latex outfit, Katsumi, also dressed in a kinky outfit, and Michael Stefano were up next in a slaughter house. While not my idea of a fun location for sex, the atmosphere and mood were set for some kinky antics when Juan was found wrapped up in a package for sale. Michael played the butcher and the gals served his every need with oral, vaginal and anal sex taking place in various positions. Vicky was the dominant partner this time and even with the ending cum swap, she maintained an air of control about her.

Scene Three: Katsumi, this time an oral slave to six masked men who were all wearing masks of Manuel Ferrara in the darkened room as she serviced them, went from one to the other using her mouth and hands to work them over. I wish the men were credited but they really weren't doing a whole lot except providing a series of meat pipes for her to suck on (quite energetically at that) as they circled her. They blew their loads on her face and mouth as they finished with her, leaving her dripping with semen for those into the nastier side of kink.

Scene Four: Rita Faltoyano, Karina Kay, Victoria Von Helkine, Jada Fire, and Manuel Ferrara, all had a little orgy together as Katsumi masturbated in the background. Manuel came a few times throughout the scene but the best looking gal of the scene was easily Rita. Rita, being such a doll, even helped Katsumi get off for a few moments with some fingering help but her strongest moments were with Manuel as he hammered away at her like crazy in several positions, including lots of anal. In all, the majority of gals went to waste this time as they "sort of" played with each other while he took one of them at a time but I liked Rita (and the concept) enough to overlook it.

Scene Five: Katsumi, led to a jail cell by diminutive Napoleon, became a prisoner of love to John Strong and Michael Stefano; both of whom wore masks. The trio masturbated one another at first until she blew them inside the cell. They then took turns screwing her fine pussy and ass while she blew the other, ending up with a bunch of DP footage as they got more into the scene. The scene lasted a long time as they screwed with abandon for what seemed like a long time and they dropped loads on her mouth and in her mouth to finish up.

Scene Six: Katsumi, having experienced all sorts of depravity in the mysterious dreamlike world, was then up last with Manuel Ferrara in a candlelit room where he entranced her one last time. Offering up a rose to her, they gently caressed one another before kissing like lost lovers having reacquainted themselves after a long separation. He then diddled her and ate her out before she returned the favor and blew him with her energetic oral. This led to them screwing in both holes although it wasn't as passionate as she's known for so much as a sultry fuck with some serious taste testing. She ate the remains of his spew and the scene ended the movie with her cuddling her teddy bear once more.

Summary: Katsumi's Dirty Deeds was worth a rating of Recommended to me for the heated sex it had much of the time but also for the cool extras and amount of fuck for the buck. If you're looking for a more straightforward release, this one might not be the title for you to pick up but the fact that Manuel took some chances should be encouraged as it might be just what a number of you are looking for in the evolution of gonzo into a semi-vignette format. Fans of Katsumi will likely think of this as a winner but I'd be lying if I said I had eyes for anyone but Rita in this one. Give it a look and I think you'll find a fair amount of strokable material; maybe Manuel will shoot in HD next time if this sells well enough.
