Extra's: The extras were pretty light this time with a trailer, photogallery and cumshot compilation from the scenes as all that was offered. I kind of wish the trailer at least had English for an option but that's just one more reason to learn foreign languages, yes?

Audio/Video Quality: Ice Cold Craving was presented with a non-anamorphic widescreen color aspect ratio of about 1.85:1. The colors were accurate and the fleshtones well handled with decent lighting and composition of the shots. There were no compression artifacts present and the video noise was minimal although some better editing might have helped the show flow better (as well as the sex scenes). If you watch the movie, not even closely, you'll see a world of difference between how porn looks in other parts of the world, some of it worth copying (I'm hoping some variation might help revitalize a few directors). The audio was presented in stereo English but only as a dub and most of the time, the lips were even close to being synchronized. I almost wonder if the story was dramatically changed given some of the visuals here. Anyway, the music was pretty good and the audio levels a bit too high (causing times when the audio was distorted) but the overall audio wasn't bad.

Review: Most of my experience with foreign porn comes from the magic vaults of Private Pictures. Let's face it, they are a huge company with some of the best sex footage to be found unless you enjoy ultra kinky stuff that no one seems willing to export to the USA these days (I have no desire to watch kiddy porn, fecal play, pissing in mouths, fisting, or any of a dozen other fetish genres more common to other countries). I've seen material from other companies but most of the time, it comes up short. One of the newer distributors of foreign porn is Pure Play Media, a conglomerate of smaller companies that seem to have found a place to call home. The company's Erotic Media line has been taking foreign features, dubbing them (although badly most of the time), and releasing them to appreciative audiences that are more interested in the sex with attractive gals than anything else. The latest in this line of releases is Ice Cold Craving, a mystery/suspense story with a lot of sex. The basic premise is that a group of models on a photoshoot are visiting a place with a history; anyone who has sex out of wedlock disappears. The legend is based on an event that took places decades earlier where some local yokel in a Scandinavian town torched an orgy, killing all the masked participants. Pretty gruesome porn, huh?

While the story aspects will keep some of you happy, the sex elements will be appreciated since the blonde bombshells used in the show were almost all major hotties worth checking out. I'm not familiar with the cast (with names that sound more like scientific jargon than names, can you blame me?) and rather than outline the sex acts by description, suffice it to say that there was a variety of stuff going on. From simple masturbation scenes, to blowjob only stuff, to threesomes and couples, the sex looked pretty good but most of the scenes were far shorter than what I'm used to (and keep in mind that I watch a fair amount of movies from Vivid Entertainment). That didn't minimize the action as the cast seemed to thoroughly enjoy the proceedings but it might limit some of you that take a while to finish yourselves off (if you know what I mean).

The up side to such a movie is that the sex was less like a cookie cutter formula and while the dubbing really sucked (in a bad way), the music was done very well and the mix wasn't bad between the two. The older guy who played the celibate photographer's Southern drawl was particularly bad and the others weren't that much better. Thankfully, once the sex started, the voices weren't as much a factor and the story didn't get in the way of the fun too often either. Like most foreign porn, there were a lot of lesbian scenes and a group orgy at the end (with a bukkake finish to spice things up) with most of the gals being blondes (naturally too I believe) for added pleasure.

The minimal story was kind of bizarre but combining porn and horror (of a fashion) is probably a lot more common overseas than it is here in the good old USA. I won't reveal the details of the story (at times they were agonizingly slow so you all owe me big time for this one) but if you enjoy the psychological thrillers that don't completely rely on supernatural elements for the kick, you may well enjoy this one a whole lot. On average, the sex was well done and different with much of it fitting into the story (though not all) so at least the clichés weren't as bothersome as most non-comedy porn is these days.

Summary: Ice Cold Craving was worth a rating of Rent It to me for the hot looking women if nothing else but the limitations of the dub and story could've been overcome to make it worth more to me. If you like blondes with lean and curvy bodies, you'll like the sex parts of the show a lot and may be able to forgive the limitations more than I could. It was certainly interesting to watch and I think a bit more work on the part of the dub might've saved it. If you're looking for something off the beaten track, this may appeal to you a whole lot more than it did to me in some ways but it was worth a look if you have access to a copy.
