Extras: My favorite related extra was the 4:50 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Shylar Cobi. The footage really did not give a lot to work with but fans of the cast will appreciate seeing them prepare for their respective scenes all the same. There was then a sort of highlight reel from five scenes on the SD version of the release, lasting 40:42 minutes and showing some of the best parts of the action (scene clips from The Nikki Jayne Experiment, Nurse Monique, On The Couch, Strictly Conversation, and Sugar). The Blu-ray version tried something different by offering somewhat longer clips from Strictly Conversation and Sugar, each clocking in around 10 minutes long but far from their original splendor for those keeping track, so you get about the same amount of footage on each version of the movie, the Blu-ray version in high definition. There was then a biography for Hanna Hilton, some trailers, spam, and a photogallery (the Blu-ray dropping the minimalist stuff though).

Audio/Video Quality: Hanna's House was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment using the standard definition MPEG-2 codec in 480p resolution for the SD version and the 1080i/VC-1 codec for the superior looking Blu-ray version. For those unfamiliar with his background, suffice it to say that his experience outside of porn is superior to many inside the industry and it shows up in his movies, including this one as it was shot in 1080i high definition (using those Canon's Skow favors), making the Blu-ray version of it look much better. The editing was not as polished this time, "Harry Crumb" credited with those duties, and post production was again handled by Kyle Caruso. The composition of the camera angles was often optimal to capture the raw energy of the scenes but frequently required shooting into the light causing color saturation issues, giving it a different look than many of Skow's previous works. The fleshtones were fairly accurate (some tint issues did exist) though but the DVD mastering was well done (if only in a bitrate hovering around 3.8 Mbps in SD and 15.1 Mbps in the high definition Blu-ray), making it a mixed bag in terms of visual quality; leaning towards slightly above average (if on the low side for Skow himself). There was a company watermark that I wasn't too keen on but most of the camera work seemed to keep this in mind, keeping the majority of action far away from the lower right hand corner. I really preferred the high definition version this time, the problems with the technical aspects mitigated somewhat but I will go on record as preferring the director's more polished efforts over the various experiments he tried here. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent. For some reason, the levels were about the same as usual but aside from the added background noise, the dynamic range was average and the separation of the vocal track nonexistent. For an all sex vignette though, it was a sufficient soundtrack with minimalist leanings most of you will appreciate over loud generic music found elsewhere.

Body of Review: B. Skow is the catalyst at Vivid Entertainment these days, bringing with him a sense of renewal as a director that the company has needed for a long time. While not exactly the fault of their remaining directorial staffer, the company continued to follow a set path for far too long, growing complacent even before the industry found itself in dire economic straits. Thankfully, Skow is equally proficient with gonzo as well as all sex vignette efforts, his best work being the manner in which he brings newcomers into the industry or his showcase titles that feature the contracts stars so many fans adore. Such was the case with his latest title, Hanna's House, a title best described as a tribute to lovely Hanna Hilton, though the other ladies certainly added some appeal as well. The back cover described the movie like this: "B. Skow followed Hanna around her house for a few days and shot everything in sight. Hanna has sex every morning with her man, and it's raunchy, uninhibited and totally wild. She has beautiful, natural d-cups and an ass sculpted by the gods. At around noon, she has friends over, and the sex pretty much continues all day. Meggan Mallone, Alyssa Hall, Rayveness, you name it...they all come over and they never stop coming. The sex was fun, frisky, and even solid in terms of replay value & strokability but the quality of the men limited just how good the performances could be. Still, Hanna was a hotty as was Meggan and the other two ladies, the realistic audio track a nice surprise over the overproduced scores so prevalent to porn these days. In short, Hanna's House provided two full scenes of Hanna Hilton getting busy, lengthy scenes that will serve many of you repeatedly compared to the truncated "sex gets in the way" type scenes Skow's peers at the company tend to shot these days, the buildup of tension and chemistry pretty good to my way of thinking.
