The Movie:

You know what you’re going to get with Hustler’s Barely Legal 128: five young ladies in five brand new scenes ready to get fucked and once again it’s all directed by Otto Bauer (who seems to be the new de facto director for this series – and why not? He’s been doing good things here!). Without any plot or real set up, it’s a fairly standard all sex release. Here’s a look:

Barely Legal 128 looks good in this 1.78.1 anamorphic widescreen transfer though quality does very a bit from scene to scene – in fact, parts of it looks to have been shot intentionally soft. There aren't any issues at all with compression artifacts or edge enhancement while color reproduction looks okay even if and skin tones are way too orange. Eagle-eyed viewers may spot just a hint of shimmer here and there but you do have to be looking for it to notice it.

Sound:

The sole audio track on this DVD release is a Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo Surround Sound mix in English. The audio on this release is fine. Dialogue stays clean and clear throughout and the levels are all properly balanced. The score sounds good and there aren't any problems with background hiss or distortion at all. The audio here won't blow you away but it certainly won't disappoint you either.

Extras:

Extras are very slim this time around, and identical to those found on most of the recent releases in the series, limited to a quick, five minute documentary that gives a very brief history of the infamous Barely Legal series of movies entitled Barely Legal: How It All Began, which has been included on all of the recent releases in the line. There’s also a ten Behind The Scenes segment here that features some casual interviews with the girls and alternate angels of the sex scenes from the feature. Aside from that, you get menus, chapter selection and a bunch of irritating advertisements that play before the menu loads, a very basic still gallery, some trailers and some phone sex and web advertisements. Yawn.

Final Thoughts:

Barely Legal 128 doesn’t really show us anything we haven’t seen before from the series but the ladies are all in very, very fine form here – each one is beautiful and sexually charged, bringing a great enthusiasm to their scene and going at it with gusto. The content is well shot and benefits from decent production values and if the extras aren’t anything to write home about, the feature makes up for it. Highly recommended.
